I am kind of excited because we're bringing our new dog home today.

Congratulations Nancy! What a lucky dog to be coming home with you. Sadie was very much like your new baby when we got her. We just brought her home and introduced her to Spike (the Rottenweiler) and made sure there was someone with her 24/7 for the first few days till she got used to our routine. Slowly her timidness went away and she started to feel like part of the family like any normal dog. Good luck with your new baby. Keep me posted, I just love a dog rescue story.

What sort of dog is she or do you know? Has she got a name? Good for you with the heated doghouse. I wouldn't keep a dog outside without one. In fact, we had one that had a/c in it too. But we wound up just keeping them inside with us all the time. Sadie had been kept outside in a kennel all her life and never played with or anything. Poor thing. I can't stand to do that to her...guess I'm getting soft in my middle age.

Congrats again.

Ohh, what you're doing is so wonderful. It will take time and patience, but I bet you'll be rewarded with such love and gratitude. You sound like just what the dr. ordered. Plus, with all that land to roam, it will be canine heaven! Have you picked out a name yet? Keep us posted on the progress you make.

And, enjoy!
