Snowy Wonderland Sunday......

I'm up already, awakened by the dulcet tones of a front-end loader masquerading as a plow this morning. Now THIS is a snowstorm! (Patty, careful what you wish for....). It's going to take all day and well into the evening to dig out the driveway and to find the car under the blown drifts of snow (DH never did get it into the garage Friday night, so there she sits - somewhere under there; the upside is that we only have to shovel half of the surface, and one of our neighbors will take pity and help us or let us borrow his snowblower and have at it). The piles of snow on either side of the drive are already as tall as I am, and the mess at the end of the drive from the plows coming by - well, who can tell how high that is. A small child or pet could disappear in it until Christmas. I'll be surprised if we actually can dig out in time for the work commute on Monday. The wind is blowing; I think the snowfall has slowed for now. Let's hope so. And let's hope that power stays on - except for a couple of nerve-wracking flickers last night, so far, so good in that department.
It is gorgeous, and now that the plow has left, the calm and quiet are church-like.
Workout today? Need you ask? Hauling out the big boots and trying to help DH with the cleanup (I might even put on a hat!). No amount of arm weight work that I've done so far has given me any marked upper-body strength, so I'll do what I can to try and help.
The Patriots ARE playing football today against the Dolphins; the fans around here are nuts enough to take a stab at getting to the stadium no matter what the weather. Tail-gating for breakfast, anyone?
GO PATS! Have a great day, everyone - take extra care digging out. Those of you gardening or going to the beach - don't tell me!
Donna

I've never seen that kind of snow.

We've gotten SO much done today! The house really looks different. It's put me in the mood to redo the house. I even picked up some tile for the kitchen and breakfast room to see how I'd like it here -- heck, the furniture's already out. The work is half done! ;-)
Tim got all the net lights out tonight, so he's finished. We had to buy 5 more sets. I have the window wreaths and candles to do and both trees, but I have time to do the trees over the next week or so. The "moving" project is finished except for hanging one large mirror. I do want other stuff to go on that large wall, but haven't decided what I want yet.
We had breakfast for dinner at Village Inn, and I'm catching my breath before I start on the wreaths. Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Stay warm and safe!
Congratulations on your continued progress with weight loss, Donna!
