6:45 a.m., I walked to the office in the snow, just little sparkles of it glittering in the moonlight. Bundled up really warm, so I didn't freeze. Peaceful, almost magical atmosphere - first snow of the year.
7:10, the next person to arrive at the office says "look outside - it's snowing!" Coming down in BIG flakes really fast.
7:10:15, the phone rings - the first parent asks "is there school today? it's snowing..."
7:10:28, the other line rings, while I am still on the first one - the second parent asks "is there school today? it's snowing..."
11:15, the sun comes out while snow is still falling - the phone suddenly becomes silent
11:30, I realize I have the most awful kink in my neck from holding the phone between shoulder and ear all morning, trying to work while explaining the whole "snow day" procedure, and listening to angry parents ranting.
1:00 to 1:30, I walk in the fresh air and remaining snow to clear my head and get some lunch.
4:00, leave office and walk to the gym to change clothes and attack the mfh for 35 minutes - drip sweat all over the machine.
5:00, walk into yoga classroom to claim my self-assigned, karma-correct, feng shui space for a 5:30 class.
5:20, the instructor walks in and I beg for a relaxing, meditative class.
6:30, Namaste....
7:00, I walk home with a smile on my face - I've enjoyed the first snow of the year.
Little - After that 2-day blizzard we had in the Northeast, reading your post brought a big smile to my face and perspective to my attitude toward snow (at least once it's all shoveled out of the way). Thanks, and I'm glad your day turned out positively....
