Good morning Snow Bunnies-

Man, the way the wind is howling and the snow is blowing outside...I'm sure thankful that I have a nice warm home.

Well, the weather is turning ugly today and we're supposed to get some snow. I will believe that when I see it. It's drizzly and gross out there now and it's supposed to get colder so I suppose we'll get icy roads. Yippee.

Today's workout: I had planned a step class but if the roads are crappy, I'll do a video at home.

Top 3 positives:

1. My yoga class last night was pretty amazing. I'm going back next week to see how I like it the second time.

2. My Grandma is improving. They're moving her back to a regular room today and she's not too happy about it so I know she's feeling better.

3. Dad's heart problems are not as severe as they thought. He had a heart cath yesterday and the doctor thinks Dad can manage his CAD with diet and exercise. Ok, so what have I been saying for years now? *shakes head*

Pretty good and positive week for me.

I'm pleased with myself, I got in a 45 minute walk yesterday. It was so beautiful outside. The snow is still fresh, the sky was blue and the trees cast long shadows on the snow. The wind was at a minimum, which made it even better for my brisk walk.

I'm starting something new. It is the ivillage Shape-Up program and it starts off slowly, which is something that I like about it so things become habits.

Today I plan to get in another walk, no less than 15 minutes, then I'll do some yoga tonight.

1. I'm getting a haircut today, keep your fingers crossed that it comes out good, you know how that is, different every time.

2. I'm thankful for this advent season, the lighting of our homemade advent wreath at dinner every night, and the prayers that we share.

3. I'm thankful that my DD is starting to feel better, I pray that she continues uphill.

Good morning, everyone!

Another not-so-bad commute. Many communities closed schools so the DPWs can do a better job clearing the roads and crosswalks around the schools so drivers can see the kids behind the snowbanks a little more clearly. Warm(er) temperatures are expected today and tomorrow, so there'll be lots of melting - I don't need to rake the snow off the roof after all, which I was going to do in earnest tonight with rain forecast for Thursday. DH and I will try to uncover the storm drain that is at the end of our driveway to open it up for storm water runoff (especially near our property).

Workout today is 30-45 min of cardio. Got back to good weight work Monday night with no strains or hurts today. Feels good.

I need new storm boots desperately. I got a pair of real heavy, warm waterproof ones from Land's End near the end of last winter, and probably wore them twice. I've worn this pair with heavy ragg socks, with lighter crew socks, and with no socks, and the rubbing on my calves and blistering on my ankles of all places is so painful it's not funny. There's a shoe store not far from the office - I'll head over there at lunch time in my hurtin' boots and see if I can't find something more leg- and foot-friendly. Then I have to call Land's End and see if I can return the boots for some kind of credit; I know LL Bean will do this, so perhaps Land's End will match them. If not, they'll be a nice donation to the needy.

Our new bedroom lamps are in; DH will pick them up tomorrow afternoon after the chimney sweep is finished with our two flues.

Positives:

1) Continued weight loss and smart eating, including a treat now and then

2) No more back or leg pain, even after weights

3) Good attitude at work in the midst of some critical major deadlines and some corporate policy changes that have generated lots of grumbling among coworkers. I'm weathering it well, knowing that my resume will be going through a professional polishing soon and I'll hopefully be otherwise engaged (or close to it) at this time next year.

Have a great day, everyone!

Good morning!I had my hair colored back to brunette. I'm not sure this natural look works for me.Have to think about this awhile.

Workout today will probably be my weights.Need to get back to a more regular workout with those. The guys are both being grinches so I may bake some cookies to jolly them up.

Got an email today that said; Strength is breaking a chocolate bar in 4 pieces and only eating one! That is the kind of strength I need to develope.

BNL, I'm missing you on board.Hope all is well, your DD has been on my mind.

3 positives; 1)The snow was not too much and so pretty.2)Christmas cards are all done.3)Family is all healthy and hasn't been hit by the flu

No snow here!! Home from Jazzercise, back healing and I don't want to push it.
