Make that "yesterday" - not enough room in the title. I've put on some weight, most of it since Thanksgiving, though I'm not as heavy as I was when I started my program on January 2nd. Too much eating, too many snacks available, and it's really difficult to resist eggnog with a little George Dickel in it, LOL! Jeans are snug again, and I know I'm looking like I did at this time last year. I'm disappointed in myself, yet I've got my choices to blame. On the other hand, I'm NOT discouraged in the least bit, otherwise I'd continue eating saying "What's the use in the weeks before Christmas?" I've already proven that I can get into a program and stick with it. Hopefully this week I'll be able to resume a little exercising - after cleaning the house which has been neglected since before Thanksgiving. Holiday decorating's done, cards are mailed, shopping is done (though wrapping is still needed - one of my least favorite of Christmas chores), made some fleece hats for the son of a friend who's a cancer patient in Vancouver, and only the choir cantata with rehearsals, and Birthday Party for Jesus (I'm in charge of this) for the preschoolers at our church remain. At least I can get started by eating right again... right?

It's gotten chilly in a hurry here! Lows have been in the low 30s, upper 20s, while highs are getting into the mid-50s. Might not sound like a big deal to some of you snowbirds ;^), but the week before Thanksgiving we were still getting temps in the low 80s, and lows were in the mid-60s. Big change in a short time, and I love it! We got firewood this weekend and have been enjoying the warmth and coziness.

George Dickel is a brand of whiskey, the one that we like. Just a check in the ol' cabinet, and I realized we're using Jim Beam right now.

My husband bought a quart of full-fat eggnog. I'm resisting it so far, but if my weigh-in this coming Sunday is a good one, I'm just going to have to have a food/dairy reward, no adult beverage added, and that'll be it. And I'll savor every drop......

Hey Cuss!

We must be the most wicked ones on the board! I have been enjoying an eggnog a couple nights a week myself - but I prefer mine with amaretto, and just a small grating of nutmeg. I figure there is about one month out of the year when it is available, and I will cut out other stuff if need be, but I won't give up that nog. *grin*

Good for you getting back on track with the eating, though. It is sooooo hard this time of year, when special treats are literally thurst into your hands (or mouth).
