Wheezy, congested, up at 4:45. That's how my Fab Friday started. But I decided to turn it into a positive Fab day. Surfed the net while sippin' my coffee and found some great articles. Read them, sent them, etc. Planned my day (in my head) and decided I needed a workout no matter how tired I was. Hit the treadmill for a quick mile and then the weight machine and free weights for chest and shoulders. I feel revived mentally, but physically...I'm going to need a nap today! Spiritually, I feel refreshed. Still not sure what He wants me to do about my job. Or maybe I'm just not listening. Or maybe I'm doing it. I freaked my boss out yesterday when I just walked in and announced that I didn't know what I was supposed to be doing and I wasn't getting (or hearing) clear answers from Him. We talked for a bit. Apparently his wife was much like me when they had children. He suggested I check into a (no...not mental facility) devotional by Beth Moore. She has a zillion, awesome devotionals and books and small group studies out. (If you don't know her, check her out at www.bethmoore.org). I settled on Breaking Free. The book and the bible study. I put it on the church account at the bookstore and didn't blink an eyelid...this is part of my job! Plus I'll do it as a warm-up to possibly doing it in the Spring with our Ladies Group. Anyway, can't wait to dig into it today and this weekend.

So...got my workout done. Will get in another one tomorrow a.m. Pancakes are made for the darlings for breakfast. I'll be at the office this morning, lunch with DH and then we hook up with the social worker from DD's school to do a "social-cultural" study for about 90 minutes. We have our Sunday School class Holiday party tonight at a friend's house. Looking forward to it. I'm popping into the bakery this a.m. to pick up something yummy. I'm also whipping up my homemade salsa to take.

Plans for the weekend:

Workout, devotional, baking, wrapping, finish decorating and getting the boxes back into the attic, cleaning. Tomorrow night is DD's and oldest DS's Sunday School "regressive dinner" party. Beginning at the Pastor's house with the blessing, dessert and a game and moving along from house to house (including ours for appetizers) and then onto the church for their white elephant gift exchange. Snow on Sunday apparently.

Love you guys. Take a minute to say a few words of gratitude...even when things are bad all around, force yourself to find something to be thankful for.

Sassy

This weekend? Probably work tomorrow for a few hours. I have a mountain of laundry the size of Pike's Peak...ok, maybe the size Pike's Peak looks from Lincoln. Anyway, I got a lotta laundry to do so that is my big challenge for the weekend. Oh, and the cards, I gotta get that done. I'm terrible!

Went to see the out-laws last night. She bought us a huge box of oranges and grapefruits and we had to go pick those up. Had a nice chat and a humorous ramble with Bob. He's so funny. He's good and solid for about 10 minutes then he goes off on a tangent and nobody is really sure what he's talking about. But he laughs about it so that's good.

Today's workout: Might be sorting laundry. Actually, I'm planning a nice quiet yoga session in the privacy of my own home...if I can get the dogs out of the bedroom for an hour.

I'm really glad it's friday.

Well, didn't get a true workout in yesterday, but I washed the car for some get up and go. Good news is I stepped on the scales this morning: I must've had some water weight as well as a pound or two from overeating. Ryan's food buffet I'm sure has plenty of sodium to contribute to that stuffed feeling! I've dropped about 3-1/2 pounds in just a few short days which is NOT possible, given past experience and the fact that I'm eating properly, even allowing some Christmas treats.

Will *try* to get in a workout today, cardio. Since I washed the car and wrapped about 2/3 of the presents, that got sidetracked yesterday.

Today and this weekend, I'll finish up the rest of the wrapping, go to a 2-1/2 hour choir rehearsal tomorrow, see the Lights Before Christmas at our zoo with DH and Kidster, then Sunday will be pretty much dedicated to God through choir. I got my haircut appointment on Monday - just a trim, as I've finally settled on my "grown up" hairstyle. LOL!

G'day!

Busy morning - but it's past, and I can coast through the rest of the work I have to do today. Workout tonight - light cardio and LB work following another mall run, if DH is up to it. He called at 11:15 to tell me he was leaving work to go home, eat chicken soup and sleep. Some kind of bug hit him yesterday, and he went downhill last night with the constant hacky cough and tight breathing. Can't tell yet if it's a cold that started in his chest and is traveling north or if it's something more - hope it's not, and he'll be watched and coddled all weekend regardless....except for Sunday afternoon when I take my niece to the Nutcracker. I cannot wait! She has called me every night this week with a countdown to Sunday. The weather is supposed to be foul by Sunday afternoon - it may impact my surprise to take her to tea at the Four Seasons Hotel following the ballet. Hopefully it'll hold out so we can fulfill all our plans and I can get her delivered home safely and mostly dry.

Have a good rest of the day, everyone!

The past two days are kind of a blur with all the activities. I can't even remember what I posted yesterday, but when I took Rob to the orthodontist, he wound up getting sick afterwards, so I had to take him home instead of back to school. He was sick at both ends just out of the blue. Maybe it was because they had to do one impression of his bottom teeth and FOUR of his upper before they got it right, but he seemed fine while they were doing it. I'm making
