What's even funnier is that I never said you said that he shouldn't have his basic human rights. I did not imply that your position was ever anything other than what you stated. I just made the comment on my own beliefs on the subject. That should be pretty clear as well.

Right/Wrong.

Up/Down.

Left/Right.

Face it Rhonda, you and I will always be on opposite sides of any issue involving politics...and a handful of other topics as well.

At least we agree on chocolate.

It appears as though you are the one getting "het up" (whatever that is). I guess I haven't thought about "our differences" and have tried to focus on similarities with board members considering opinions expressed as general discussion not aimed at anyone in particular. I usually try not to make personal comments.

Your post gave the impression that you were concerned he would not be given his human rights even if you didn't intend it. I think Phyllis got the same impression. Also, my reply was to Patty, who in agreeing with you that he should be given his human rights, etc., must have also gotten the same impression.

We probably don't like the same kind of chocolate either.

Whatever you say Rhonda. When I said het up (irritated, angry, upset, nauseated, whatever), I was trying to head just this sort of thing off at the pass as I made my comments. Whatever you and Phyllis inferred from my post, I think this is a prime example of mis-communication via e-mail. I was voicing an opinion as I assumed you were. What may seem an off-hand comment to one person may not seem to off-hand to another. I usually try not to make personal comments either. I cannot take responsibility for how someone else reacts to me any more than anyone else can take responsibility for my reactions.

As an aside, I don't see how he can possibly maintain very many of his rights for very long. Certainly not past the end of June when the Iraqi's are supposed to take their country back over. It does concern me to some extent I suppose. But no more so than any other accused person. Fact is in the real world, he probably won't get more than the bare minimum...which is more than some people think he deserves.

Anyway, I'm all for the dark chocolate--especially with the caramel centers. I'm going to have to dig out the Christmas candy we got at work today and hope for the best. I usually try to enjoy our similarities and revel in our differences. It's part of what makes us human. And it's part of what makes us individuals.

For future reference -- getting personal is not a good way to head off people getting het up.

Actually, I like all kinds of chocolate.
