My username? Well, DH and I have been pretty active with role playing games both at home and on line. We used to play a game called Diablo and he came up with this name for one of the characters.

In short, I stole it from DH when he wasn't looking. But you gotta admit, it's pretty unique. AND I had it before all this bootylicious stuff ever happened.

I've got where my online name comes from on my personal webpage, but I'll share it again here. We have Jacques Cousteau to thank for my name, Cussette (and also the online name I have for my husband, The Cus). In a Cousteau documentary filmed in the Papua-New Guinea region, a local chieftan gave one of Cousteau's crews a cuscus for a gift - a very high honor. With sharp claws and a pre- hensile tail for climbing, these marsupials are nocturnal which is why you don't see them in many zoos. They are fairly docile when around people. The show probably didn't have more than 5 minutes of cuscus footage, but it was enough to make us fall in love with the animal, with its big eyes and cute call - a sort of throaty "rehhhh" sound, like the growl from old teddy bears with sound boxes. 14 years later, our pet name for one another is still "Cus" or "Cuscus"... or any derivative that strikes our fancy. Incidentally, while it's pronounced "cuss-cuss", we prefer how crew of Cousteau did: "coos-coos" like the Moraccan pasta. Hence, "Coos-ette" and "The Coos". Oh, and the cuscus which was given to Cousteau's crew? The crew released their it back into the jungle.

My younger daughter is a huge fan of the music of the Barenaked Ladies and me being the Mom couldn't quite imagine what type of music a group with that name could possibly perform. She turned me into a fan and she even managed to get me an autographed CD as a gift-so BNL with my birthdate and year attached to it!
