Since these are going to require some thought, I'm posting them a day early to give you (and me) lots of time to think about them for good answers. So, put on your thinking caps and let's hear some really awe inspiring answers.

1. What new sport or fitness activity will you try this year?

2. If you had absolutely no limitations, what would you be doing with your life?

3. Sum up your fitness goals for 2004 in 20 words or less.

4. What subject would you like to learn more about in 2004?

5. How much cardio per week will you commit to in 2004?

Many thanks to Phyllis for these thought provoking questions.

Rhonda

Ok, I'll give it a go:

1. What new sport or fitness activity will you try this year?

Actually, I was thinking of jogging. I might be crazy with my joint problems, but it just feels like I'm missing out on something really great. Everyone I've talked to that runs just raves about it.

2. If you had absolutely no limitations, what would you be doing with your life?

a. Breeding and showing Rottweilers and training them for Shutzhund. I love dogs and especially Rotties. That is a huge dream of mine.

b. Own and operate a medium sized community-based organic farming operation (CSA--Community Supported Agriculture). Getting people involved in community activities and positive environmental activities is a goal of mine. Helping young people to understand where their food comes from and how the eco-system works is important not only for their own future, but for the future of the planet. By doing these things, maybe we can undo some of the damage we've done in the last couple of hundred years.

c. Work with environmental issues in general. I might become more politically active in support of things like alternative energy sources (hydrogen powered vehicles being my #1 interest at the moment).

3. Sum up your fitness goals for 2004 in 20 words or less.

Be strong. Be healthy. Expand my horizons and push the envelope a bit. Try something new and maybe risky.

4. What subject would you like to learn more about in 2004?

Ayurvedic nutrition.

5. How much cardio per week will you commit to in 2004?

Commit to 5 hours a week but aim for 7 hours a week.

Thanks Rhonda and Phyllis!

1. What new sport or fitness activity will you try this year? Not planning to try anything new. I just took up running last May, and that wasn't exactly planned.

2. If you had absolutely no limitations, what would you be doing with your life? Oooo, traveling the old roads in America!

3. Sum up your fitness goals for 2004 in 20 words or less. Step up running to 5 miles regularly, increase free weights to 12-15 pounds, keep up abs work, exercise 4-5x weekly.

4. What subject would you like to learn more about in 2004? My own faith.

5. How much cardio per week will you commit to in 2004? 3x, an hour per stint.

Awe-inspiring replies, huh? Only you, dear readers, can decide what's awe-inspiring to you. I'm just answerin' the questions (on 4 hrs sleep, I strive simply for coherence and proper spelling....)

1. What new sport or fitness activity will you try this year

Hardly awe-inspiring - I might actually try running for something other than the train. Brisk walking on the treadmill is getting boring. Either that or the "decor" in my basement is finally getting to me....

2. If you had absolutely no limitations, what would you be doing with your life?

Working at a pittance paycheck for a non-profit dedicated to improving the quality of education public school kids receive. Being a reading coach for young kids, if that's doable without an education degree. Heck, maybe I'd go back to school for a elementary education degree.

3. Sum up your fitness goals for 2004 in 20 words or less.

Make workouts more consistent, lose my next 16 lbs, practice lifelong habits to maintain that weight forever.

4. What subject would you like to learn more about in 2004?

For fun - Italian cooking (probably because of pasta withdrawal)....

5. How much cardio per week will you commit to in 2004?

Four times a week; five times consistently is becoming a very elusive target.

1) Nothing new , want to improve on what I'm doing now.

2)First thing that came to mind was traveling the 50 states. The next thing was to have the money to make lots of improvements in CL and try new things.

3)To be more consistent and to improve my eating habits.

4)Myself!I know that sounds silly but I want to take the time to find out what I want in life.DS is going to be 19 in a couple of weeks and it's time for me to put some of the focus I've had on him back on myself.I spoke with a friend the other day who said they had spent too much time expecting others to make them happy.Said she first needed to learn to be happy with herself.Made me think....

5)I'd like to get to 6 days of consistent exercise IF I can do it without getting behind on other things or burning out.If not then I'll try for 5.Going for balance.

Whew!!Made me think some, Rhonda! Thanks for the FF!!!

Thank YOU, Phyllis! You did the brain work, and I just did the typing. LOL! I've still got to come up with some answers of my own.

Carbon copy of 2003, it worked wonders (for my mind, body and....all the rest).

1. What new sport or fitness activity will you try this year?Definitely looking into taking yoga classes.

2. If you had absolutely no limitations, what would you be doing with your life? It's funny that this question should come up because I had just read an article about a woman who started a program called School on Wheels which provides tutoring for homeless children. Literacy and education are very near and dear to me.

3. Sum up your fitness goals for 2004 in 20 words or less. I want to be consistent with my fitness. When I'm consistent it makes me feel better physically, emotionally and spiritually.

4. What subject would you like to learn more about in 2004? As I continue to be a literacy volunteer I want to learn to be a better lesson planner. I really want the plans to be interesting, fun, and worthwhile.

5. How much cardio per week will you commit to in 2004? 4x a week

Not sure whether my brain was up to this much thinking at this hour. As always a lot of fun thinking and reading the thoughts of others! Thanks Rhonda and Phyllis!
