The cast is off!!!!

Yeah...the cast is off and the stitches are out! However, the pin is in and has to stay in for 2 more weeks. I am healing so well, the doc decided to not put me in another cast. The foot is heavily bandaged and I have to wear a "surgical" shoe when ever I am up. The shoe rubs on the pin...that was what I was feeling in the cast...the pin is on top this time and not like the 2 pins that were on the side last time. Now I am a nervous wreck that I am going to bang it...it is really sore. I do hope the grandkids understand that I cannot play with them much this Christmas. It will be hard not to...I don't get to see them very much.

I was told I am an "extremely healthy woman". The doc did a similar proceedure on a 38 year old woman the same day as my surgery. She left the hospital in a bandage but is healing so poorly that she left the docs office yesterday in a cast. Doc said the cut in the bone is already healed and you can hardly see it on the xray. I told her I don't understand because I don't drink milk or take calcium supplements. She said it has nothing to do with it...it is your general health. I guess I am not biologically as old as my age. Did that make sense??? I sure do believe in exercise to keep you young and young feeling.

I am off to eat some breakfast, but I just wanted to share my good report. Have a great day all.

Hugs

Yay! Good for you Grace. And good for you for taking such good care of yourself. Hope your foot is feeling better soon so you can play with the kids.

Great news, Grace! I think the grandchildren will understand - I assume they're really young, so just say booboo a few times and they'll take excellent care of you.

Have a wonderful holiday with them.....

I think recovery time from illnesses or surgery is great motivation for us to stay in shape.

Well, Hallelujah! I am so glad to hear you're doing so well. There was a blurb on TV last night or the night before about women who have elective surgery so they can continue to wear stiletto heels. Some even have their toes shortened so they'll "look better." One woman had spent $30,000. on her feet to wear heels!! All I could think of is all the pain you've been through and couldn't help it. So glad you're on the mend.
