Good morning!Yes, I am so ready to get back to normal.Though I question what normal is...

And yes so ready to get back to workouts and good eating.Way too much eating these past few days.

No post holiday shopping here.Working in CL and trying to get the house back in order.Family stuff going on with in laws which will take most of the afternoon.I'm pretty positive their goal for the year was to push me over the edge and they've put the final touches on it the past few days.I'm going to draw up a game plan for next year, where I feel like I do enough to not feel guilty but not feel overwhelmed. And just so they know, I'm already crazy so they neeed to find a new goal in life!!!So there!!

Rhonda, are you going shopping today???How do you have any energy left after all that work you did on so little sleep?

Phyllis, on my treadmill I got a very basic one.I wish I had had the money to go up on the motor alittle more and get the quieter one.But since I'm usually home alone when I work out I decided that wasn't a major issue.I got an auto incline which was my major thing. That way I can take it up a notch on both walks and runs. And the running belt is alittle longer and wider.I read a great article on running the other day.It talked about what a great basic workout it is and how it is the best for burning calories. My plan is to just be as consistent as possible and not get too hung up on time, distance, whatever.

Hope everyone has a great day.

We spent the holiday at MIL's place in the mountains and had a wonderful time.

Good morning!

A leisurely Friday at home for DH and me. We've just finished putting away our gifts. Between boxes, bags and wrapping paper, the trash can is overflowing ahead of schedule; thank goodness for municipal trash pickup Monday morning.

Back to healthy eating - I splurged a little, but happy to say not like in past years. I don't expect too much effect on the scale. My jeans are still zippable without me having to resort to rabid dancing and turning blue.

No strenuous workout today and no shopping for post-holiday sales yet. There will still be enough left to pick from a few days from now; we have more than enough lights, ornaments, wrapping paper, bows, ribbons, and gift tags for the next several years. I'm heading to the bank in a little while, and then writing/mailing letters to accompany charitable donations we're making in honor of our parents this holiday. DH and I do plan to head into the city late afternoon to walk around and look at lights and decorations and sip "Fourbucks" peppermint hot chocolate as we amble along. It should be pretty deserted and peaceful, and dare I say we might even find a free parking space along the street instead of in an overpriced parking garage? Dinner could be either a late rotisserie turkey breast (it was marked chicken, and it sure looks like one turned on its side), or maybe Mexican in the city.

I don't know where my 78-yo mom gets her energy (but I hope the well is deep!) - she took my high-wired 6-yo niece and 4-yo nephew home Thursday night for a sleepover so my sister and BIL could take their time cleaning up from the holiday and going into work for a regular workday today. I think my sister's plan is to pick the kids up Saturday morning; if that's the case, our visit to the city could include a surprise drop-in at my mom's. We shall see.

Have a restful day, everyone. Back to the fitness grind - er, fun - Saturday.

Hey there!

The weather outside is dreary, dark, gloomy and gray. The clouds are so thick and low you can nearly reach up and touch them. I don't remember any word of snow, but it sure 'feels' like snow out there. No flakes yet though. DH has gone off to help his brother with his new computer and I'm at home with da bears. I found my TaeBo tapes and I'm considering spending a little time with Billy.

Went out shopping this morning. The day after Christmas is so much more fun for me than the days before it's unbelievable. Got a really great deal on a new backgammon set and a Scrabble game at Wally World and spent about an hour wandering around in Target with a clearance top in my basket. I took one look at the check out line and put the top back. I'm not standing in line for 30 minutes for a $4 yoga top. Besides, I had that Best Buy gift card burning a hole in my pocket and I had to get across the street to get my copy of Shrek and that CD I've been wanting for ages. Who ever would have thought I'd be buying an Anastacia CD? Go figure.

Anyway, I'm burrowed in for the rest of the day I think. I've got my tea and my animal crackers so I'm set. I'm going to watch Shrek and plan some menus for the challenge next month. I keep thinking that I'll start early, but it hasn't happened yet. Got some Ghiradelli chocolates for Christmas that are making it realllllly hard. Just love those dark chocolate mint squares.

Anyway, gotta make a plan to succeed next month so off I go. Have a fabulous day!

Lori

Have I been using the word 'fabulous' a lot lately or is it just my imagination?

What day is it? ;-)

Rob and I were at the mall at 6:30 waiting for Belk's to open, so I could see if a Misook outfit I want had been marked down. It hadn't, but I got a pair of jeans and took two things back, plus we walked the length of the mall and back. We left by 7:35 and headed to the Village Inn in St. Augustine for breakfast, then to St. Augustine Beach where we got Rob's surfboard, track grip, nose guard (for the board), and new leash. He was so excited!

I've been thinking about your post alot today.Really has me excited about the new year and all the possibilities.I admire that you have been thru so much and have such a positive outlook. You just can't begin to know how many times your words and posts go thru my mind.Thinking of ways to simplify my life, to spend more time on things I enjoy and to focus on a healthy lifestyle are things that come to mind when I think of you. Thanks for all the positive things your words add to my life!

I don't think you've overused the F word but we'll watch closely that you don't get out of hand with it.If so we'll do a group intervention and pull you back :)
