I think I've set a landspeed record

in wedding organisation...
In the past two days, I've:
booked the location for wedding/reception (a county park)
booked the minister and started discussing the ceremony
designed the dress and bought fabric (which is with the seamstress now)
started booking a band (just waiting to hear back from them)
checked on passport and documentation requirements for him
determined the decor theme
bought fabric for the picnic benches (so no one dirties or snags their clothes)
ordered the cake
made up the guest list
determined the menu
and booked a room for our wedding night
and even got time to play games and watch videos with my kids and go to a party with friends last night.

Its amazing what we can do when we have something that really motivates us ;-).

FABULOUS!!!!
You are so very organized and I love it. It sounds like you're really enjoying your wedding planning. I've got my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly for you.
I don't want to jinx your plans or anything, but I have a friend here in town who is getting married in June and she has had nothing but headaches and heartaches to deal with. It's been so stressful for her because her intended has been married twice before and this is her first wedding and he just doesn't see why everything has to be 'just so.' When will men get that nearly all of us women have been planning our weddings since we were about, oh, 5 or 6 years old? That this is the most important day of our lives? Humph!
I'm glad you're having such a good time. Your plans sound wonderful. Enjoy!

Inanna is 12 and *very* grown up... she's taller than I am and quite the responsible young lady. Graeme is a typical 10 year-old boy. They're both in scouts. I'm so proud of them both. They're living here in their home they grew up in, with my ex, who's been Dad since Graeme was 6 months old. This way, they get some stability in their lives and get to stay in their schools with friends...
I just wish I could get their bio-father who has joint *legal* custody to sign the paperwork for their passports, so they could come be with me in Summer. I hate being separated from them for so much of the year. It sucks. But, he's pretty psychotic- the only way I'd be able to at this point would be to go to court - and dragging kids through court is not something I consider appropriate.
At least we're gonna spend spring break together in Washington DC. That was their big Yule present - tickets for both of them and a guide book for each. So we can go play tourist for a week together. I'm looking forward to that.
