Good morning -

OK, where did winter go? We're sitting here with windows and doors open and the heat turned down. It's not even that warm, but it feels muggy. A little gray, too.

All the Christmas decorations are down and waiting to be boxed and brought up to the attic. There aren't many breakables that require special handling, so it won't take too long. Pulling apart the tree is my least favorite part of the process - I'll end up with a lot of little cuts all over my hands that I won't feel for a day or two, then they'll just start stinging.

Going to have my Irish oats, Canadian bacon, a Clementine, and a big mug o' java in a few minutes, then get back to the undecorating. A walk outdoors is a possibility, but it'll have to be mid-afternoon rather than evening - with football playoffs going on today, I doubt DH will opt to accompany me for an evening stroll.

I think it's great to even be talking about taking a stroll in January. Wait 'til Tuesday - that's when the mercury starts to drop seriously around here.

Have a great day, everyone!

It is snowing outside today. Sideways...north to south. And cold. Really, really cold. Hasn't been this cold in a month of sundays. Soft, light, dry snow blowing all over creation. The dogs are the only ones who are truely happy with this. I just hope the phones and power stay on. We have a lot of trouble with that when we have a storm.

So today's workout will be trying to keep up with the dogs on our walks. Through 3 foot drifts of snow that they just plow through like it's not even there.

We are supposed to go to town today but I'm not sure we're going. No, I think that with the snow and all, I'll be holed up in my little house. I might try to put the finishing touches on the hall closet today. The dumpster is full and so is the car with goodies for the Good Will so I can't possibly get rid of anything else today. Thank goodness the garbage truck comes tomorrow am.

Patty--Just think how fabulous your house is going to be when it's done! And I know those chickens are getting on your nerves, but this is a hard time of year for chickens isn't it? And I don't see the problem with keeping your shower routine the same...what gives? ;-)

Nancy--I was just wondering about your dog the other day. I don't think a heated water dish is spoiling your dog a bit! If the cattle can have heated drinking troughs, then Annie gets a heated dish. We had heated dishes for our rabbits and chickens! That little dog deserves a little pampering if you ask me, which you didn't but I'm not the sort to wait for my opinion to be asked for.

Deb--enjoy your class. You're braver than I when it comes to driving around in the muck. It's 15 minutes from my house to Jazzercise and today it would probably take 30. I'll pass but you go girl!

Rhonda--take care of your back and neck! My Dad always told me that the reason we have children is to do the yardwork so give that boy something to do! Wish I were walking the beach with you today.

Everyone else--Have a great day!

We got the yard mowed, raked, edged, etc., and I put all the "millions" of oak leaves around various shrubs and flowers. Got Rob to do the bulk of the raking, but it was almost as painful as the aftermath of doing it myself. Tim helped too. It's a big improvement. I got in lots of bending, squatting, and other lower body moves. Think a hot soak is on the agenda.

You are certainly right about wanting our lives to be back to normal.
