Thursday night I happened to look at my wedding set and one of the prongs was bent on my engagement ring. It isn't the biggest diamond around (1/2 carat and a baby compared to both DDs') but it is the one Dh picked out all by himself after we were married 10 years. (The first ring was stolen on the honeymoon probably at the airport. I stupidly took it off and locked it in my suitcase because we had to return the motorbikes and it vibrated my ring practically off my finger when we rode them.)
Anyway, I was able to get it fixed the next day and I am so relieved I didn't lose another diamond. It is now all shiny and new looking. I forgot how nice it looked after it is professionally cleaned.
So...check those prongs on your rings. You just never know.
