I understand what you mean about "enjoying" time with you FIL since Alzheimer's has set in. He's a different personality now and just because you smile at his foibles doesn't mean you're disrespecting his dignity. I just finished reading a book called "The Queen of Mimosa Branch". Synopsis: a 50-yr-old woman, with a philandering husband, bankruptcy, a failed marriage, a crummy wardrobe, a body under attack by gravity and menopause, and no employable skills moves home (I think to Georgia) to stay with her family, which she's dreading, and comes to terms with her past and the present and finds her strengths as she's getting back on her feet. Alzheimer's has her uncle in its grips, and it's starting to show up in her father. Shows the female characters as true backbones of the family and although Alzheimer's isn't the focal point of the story, it shows all the heartbreak and laughter and exhaustion this horrible disease brings with it. It's not a taxing read, and it's pretty amusing and even uplifting.

Several coworkers probably think I've achieved diva status already (wink). I wouldn't mind stopping at hottie and staying there a while.

One thing I've decided to do is to NOT get on the computer until after I've worked out. This morning I had a headache leftover from last night. Two Aleve, a little more sleep, 3 aspirin upon getting up again *and* application of an ice pack to get rid of the last bit... set my morning routine behind. Actually it was today's exercise that did in the last of the headache!

Yesterday I ate reasonably. My exercise was numerous climbs up and down the attic stairs, at times shoving Sterlite boxes of Christmas decos over my head. I felt the arm and shoulder muscles!

Today I got back into a real exercise routine... I'll post for updates above and share it there.

Holiday positives: seeing the holiday "magic" work in Allison - she was totally enchanted by everything, and also feeling His prescence this year especially as we sang the full versions traditional carols surrounding His birth. Also, having The Cus around for so many days. With 5 weeks of vacation annually, he often ends up with a few extra at year end.
