Wednesday Workout Check-in...

As Dr. Phyl knows...I get bored with my workouts. Especially that treadmill. So today I decided to shake things up a bit. I ran stairs for 5 minutes at full speed up and down. I did 5 minutes of step with extra leg lift at full speed and then I trotted down to the treadmill and jogged for 5 minutes to Styx. Moved onto the weight machine and did my chest workout. Then hit the floor for push-ups. Did I mention I can't do push-ups? Never have been able to. I'm doing sissy-girl push-ups right now, but I'm progressing and once I have the sissy-girls down, I'll be doing the big boy push-ups. The push-ups are my "secret" goal (as in secret from DH and the kids who can all do REAL push-ups...including our 8 yo).

I feel energized and even danced a little jig after I successfully did my push-ups!

Now...food for the day is the REAL challenge!

Hugs

Sassy

Just came in from a run.Man is it cold outside!!Wish my legs could have run as fast as my nose!!!Had a quick lunch with a friend today.Had to cut it short cause treadmill was being delivered. Not sure when it will be put together, hopefully before too long.So much going on here now not sure when DH can get to it.Begining to rethink the company trying to drive me crazy. They called this afternoon and want to hold the last house a little longer. They will be held 2 hours longer.See, now they are just messing with me.

I can't get used to having men around me.I was having a phone conversation about underwear with a friend today and one of the siding guys came in to ask me something and heard more than he needed to know.I also need to remember they are working around windows and can see in.On the bright side though they crank up the music while they work and they love country music.

Oww. Oooo. Oooofff! Man, anybody who thinks their exercising isn't doing anything ought to take a month or two hiatus like I did... and then get back into it. My chest hurts from peck flies, my outer thighs/hips hurt from leg presses, my abs hurt from crunches. It's a good kinda hurt though, and I went on like a trooper today: abs, inner leg lifts, and about 35 minutes of my cardio video with the weight work - total 45 minutes. Eating getting better, water intake increasing again, daily until I hit 60 oz (5 12 oz glasses).

Good for you for the variety, and high-speed at that. WTG on the push-ups too. I'm back to knee push ups for now, until I get back on track. With my tapes, they hold them at the bottom for 3 counts or take 'em down for 2 counts, making them more difficult than regular up-down pushups. I was *very* happy when I could just do regular pushups. I wanna "wow" the guys at the National Guard booth at the Fair this year ;^).

Workout breakthrough!

Did 3 miles on the treadmill in 38 minutes. I ran 6 minutes in intervals total. Six minutes for me is major; if I were Native American, my name would be Runs for Nothing! I also upped my UB weights on the weight machine to 55-65 lb and reps to between 15 and 25. Felt great.

Ate well, drank my RDA of H2O, and now I'm ready to hit the feathers. Have a good night and a restful sleep!

Here I am a day late but I just had to say I love your self-made "circuit training" Sassy! With this cold weather I find myself improvising too. The other day I was doing a 3 mile Walk Away The Pounds video and by the 3rd mile I was getting so restless I jogged in circles around the ping-pong table for the rest of the tape. My hubby thought I had lost it. Maybe now he'll be convincd we need a treadmill! But I have also been known to run up and dow the basement steps...hey, anything that works!

I also am doing "sissy" pushups and am up to 10 now. But I don't have plans to go to full pushups. Not soon anyway.
