1) Guess I'm just not a movie-goer anymore. I do think I want to take in Mel Gibson's film about Jesus when it comes out. I'm very curious. Not to cheer wildly or razz, just real curious.

2) Started "Shut Up and Sing" yesterday. Finished "The DaVinci Code" last week in 3 days. Loved it. After reading this book, I want to see how Gibson handles the relationship between Jesus and Mary Magdalene.

3) Chili or beef stew. Chili will probably be on the menu Sunday night - it'll be a great accompaniment to the football game. (Plus, the weather is callin' for snow squalls Sunday - and we know how the Patriots play in the snow. Yippee!!)

4) I wrap a scarf around as much of my face as I can, to avoid having my glasses fog up and become a safety hazard as I'm crossing streets. Also, I'm using a light moisturizer/skin balancing lotion for the first time in my life.

5) God, no! My winter coats and jackets have big hoods, so I put earmuffs over my ears and pull the hoods up over them. The earmuffs help hold the hoods on, I stay pretty comfortable, and I avoid hat-head.

1. Is there a movie you'd like to see? If so, which one?

Yes, Pirates of the Carribean...fortunately I got it on DVD!

2. What book are you reading or would you like to read next?

Not reading anything at the moment. I've been perusing my new subscription to Cooking Light.

3. What's one of your favorite cold weather dinners?

Lentil soup with toast for dunking.

4. How do you protect the skin on your face from really cold weather?

Lots of face cream and a balaklava that velcros around my neck and covers my face.

5. Do you wear a hat when it's very cold? If so, what does it look like and what's it made of? (You know you lose 20% of your body's heat through your head...)

LOL! My hat. DH would burn it if he got the chance. It's like one of those lumberjack hats with the flaps that tie under your chin...except it's bright pink and made out of polar fleece. I love my hat!

I loved the "DaVinci Code" too, Donna! I really enjoy a good suspenseful tale and all the more if has some art or history to the tale. I always like to read about Biblical matters, so that was right up my alley. It was quite shocking, but I'm used to being shocked in matters of church and clergy. A long time ago, I was shocked almost out of my gourd to find out what a good number of Protestant clergy have been exposed to in the seminaries and universities they attend!

Hi, Kat - Nice to see you! I do hope you get that new Internet connection - I miss your posts.

I'm a tad cranky at the Roman Catholic Church anyway, with the abuse scandal that broke open over the last couple of years and the damage that was done to so many and covered up - and then denied! But reading about the Church patriarchy and what they've done over centuries to consolidate their power, quash any other possible interpretations about Jesus' intentions for the establishment of the Church, slander Mary Magdalene, eliminate women from Church governance, et al was amazing, even if it the book is a work of fiction. I loved following all the clues and riddles that Sophie's grandfather strung together. What a mind! And all those twists and turns. Good book on a lot of levels.

How's Danny doing?

These are fun Rhonda.

1. Is there a movie you'd like to see? If so, which one? Lord of the Rings, Return of the King, Cold Mountain and a couple of others that I can't think of off the top of head. Actually we rarely go to the movie theatre and haven't been renting many either since hockey has been on!!

2. What book are you reading or would you like to read next? I am currently reading the Four Agreements.

3. What's one of your favorite cold weather dinners? Chili con carne served over rice.

4. How do you protect the skin on your face from really cold weather? We haven't had *really* cold weather here, but when we lived in Calgary and it dipped way down, I'd wrap a big scarf around my face so that only my eyes were peeking out!

5. Do you wear a hat when it's very cold? If so, what does it look like and what's it made of? (You know you lose 20% of your body's heat through your head...) Absolutely!! I have sensitive ears, so I wear ear muffs too! For the last couple of years I wore a fleece pillbox (mauves and blues), but recently I just finished making 2 roll brim toques from Noro Kureyon wool. One has a colour run from dark brown to grey with some pinky tones in it. The other has hot pink, running through mauves and into green (I think). Of course, winter's all but over here now! :o)

I enjoyed the DaVinci code as well. There is also a book called Angels and Demons that I believe was written before the DaVinci Code. I bought the book but haven't had the chance to read it yet.

1. Is there a movie you'd like to see? If so, which one?

Lord of the Rings

2. What book are you reading or would you like to read next?

Have a stack unread but think I would like to start Angels & Demons by Dan Brown

3. What's one of your favorite cold weather dinners?

Chili, roast chicken basically anything that's slow cooked that just makes the house smell so wonderful

4. How do you protect the skin on your face from really cold weather?

Something that I don't do and should

5. Do you wear a hat when it's very cold? If so, what does it look like and what's it made of? (You know you lose 20% of your body's heat through your head...)

I usually only wear a hat during a snowstorm and out shoveling and cleaning off cars and when walking Otto on those cold nights. I have a various assortment usually with holes in them because if you drop a hat or glove Otto runs away with it to see if you want it that bad and to see if he'll get a bribe to get it back, but of course by that time it has a hole in it. It's usually some type of sock hat or my knit hat with the pompom and ear flaps-the family just loves me in that one!
