Everyone is heading in different directions today. Except for me. Although I will be a driver. Youngest DS is being picked up by his basketball coach, any moment now, for practice, a game, a movie and pizza with the team. His coach is picking him up and dropping him off. Love that! DH is soon heading up to the middle school to spend the day working off his volunteer hours for Spring Baseball. He'll be a computer geek for the day, entering registration info. He is a people person and this is right up his ally. He went up last week to register our two boys for spring ball and spent 2 1/2 hours in there. He tried to make it sound like a pain in the butt and there were such huge crowds, etc., but he finally confessed he spent most of that time chatting with everyone, bellying up to the high school coach (oldest will be a freshman next year), chatting up the guys who run the clinics, etc. There will be much more of that today, I'm sure. Our two oldest will be spending four hours at the library taking their soccer referee tests. I will have the house to myself for a bit. Tonight we're heading to one of the racquet & swim clubs for a church family fun night. We'll be able to use the pool, tennis and racquet ball courts, volleyball, rock-climbing, etc. DH and I usually kick butt on the tennis courts (now that we play together and not against each other ;) But DH's knee is really blown. He'll be calling the surgeon (who he grew up with) scheduling his knee surgery.
My workout today will be the treadmill, chest and abs. Then I will get the rest of the holiday stuff organized and packed up so the boys can move it all up to the attic. Then I'm tackling the home office.
DH and I have been going over our eating and menus for SBD. Guess we'll get going on that Monday.
Hope everyone has an AWESOME Saturday!

Workout this morning was 20 minutes 1.6 miles on the treamill and then another 30 minutes with weights, squats, lunges, abs.
Planning on cleaning out the other 2 closets in our upstairs TV room and giving the room a real thorough cleaning. Also need to run the vaccum through the rest of house before the dust and dog hairballs become boulders. I have to get Otto out for a walk-he's definitely got cabin fever! Never saw a dog who can get into so much mischief!
Hope everyone has a Happy Saturday!

We're havin' a heat wave! Well, 20 degrees feels a lot more normal. Not quite beach weather, but close .
Going to the basement to do my full 30 min cardio and weight workout in a little bit - did just 35 min of cardio yesterday, after hearing of possible rolling blackouts and treadmill power loss. I didn't want to get it half done, then break for weights, then go to finish and maybe not have power, so I just did 35 minutes with running intervals, showered, dried my hair, and called it a good day.
We're heading out for a visit with my niece and nephew later today; I haven't seen them in a couple of weeks, and I miss them. Weather permitting, we've scheduled a sleepover the last weekend of January.
If anyone is interested, today is Fashion Day on QVC. I have an Easy-Pay-on-Request offer burning a hole in my pocket, and I'm thinking of buying a Dennis Basso faux fur full-length leopard coat. Considering it carefully - the coat looks really warm and toasty, but it doesn't have a hood, so then I'll have to buy a hat, and then - aaaccckkk -permanent hat head!
Have a great day, everyone!

The sun is peeking out, and we're supposed to be in the 60's today, but I think it's supposed to get progressively cloudier as the day wears on.
Well, another exciting day...I'm going to a friend's 70th birthday party. My friends seem to be getting older and older suddenly. I was going to give my 84-year old friend a ride, but she called this morning and said she'd been on the run so much the last 3 days that she was aching and needing to take it easy today. I told her that was probably a good idea.
My good (?) friend called to warn me that she'd suggested I be approached to help sort out the membership mess at the RWCDF!! Gee, thanks! The woman who's just taken it over from the one who messed it up probably needs a little help. I said if I'm asked, I'll HELP, but I will not take it over. I have enough to do with the newsletter.
I think I may actually pull out one of my T-Tapp or Pilates videos today! Really need to regain my flexibility and core strength.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Don't have a game plan for the day yet. Think I'll pass on the Stairmaster today. My calves are sore. I think it's probably from the skipping the other day! So, I think I'll do some upper body weights. Haven't been too successful in that department lately.
Day 6 of SB for me. I haven't stepped on the scale this morning yet, but I'm thinking it will show a bit of a dip. A very late AF showed up yesterday and my tummy was noticeably *deflated* this morning! I'm almost at the halfway mark of Phase I (tomorrow) and it's been so easy this time that I'm thinking I might just stay on it for an extra week.
Nancy, I don't know if you have access to them there, but I'm pretty fond of some of the Chinese vegetables, like bok choy and gai lan (Chinese broccoli). You can whip up some pretty good stirfries without them though. Try a combo of sliced zucchini, fairly thin carrot slices, peppers, celery and onion. If you want to glaze them, mix up a tsp of cornstarch in a couple of Tbsp. of water with a couple of teaspoons of soy sauce.
Sassy, you sound like you have a very busy day happening at your house! I need to get busy and check around to see when T-ball starts around here.
Patty-cakes, big hugs. The waiting is always the worst! Hope it turns out to be nothing at all.
Phyllis, you crack me up! You got to sleep in.....then I looked at the time on your message! 6:15 am!!!
Donna, glad things are warming up a titch for you. Last night the Weather Network was showing a clip of a fellow who lived back there throwing a mug of boiling water in the air and it was frozen before it hit the ground! OUCH!
Kat, enjoy your singles function! My mom used to go to a singles club after my father died and she made some very good friends there.
Rhonda....get out that tape and get moving!!! You'll feel better for it!
Have a goo Saturday everyone!
Shar (hoping for sun this afternoon so I can take my monsters to the park to burn off some energy!)
