I'm so glad to hear that exercise relaxes you for a good night's sleep. That should be enough incentive to keep at it. I used to think it was rare to be able to work out that late and have just enough time for a shower before falling into a dead sleep. Works for me!
Good morning! Tim's at work, and Rob's still sleeping. Yesterday was beautiful -- mostly sunny and in the upper 70's. This morning is overcast and drizzling. We need the rain, but it's a de-motivator for me. Maybe since Rob is home, I can persuade him to mall walk or do something to get me going.
My major accomplishment yesterday was to buy a citronella bark control collar for Winston. It was either that or have his vocal cords cut. Actually, I'd never do that, but some people do. I took the first collar back that I think he overwhelmed, but I have high hopes for this one. After he got two whiffs of it in the face last night, he was uncharacteristically quiet. Hooray! Unfortunately, Rob took it off to check it out and put it back on inside out so the microphone was against his skin and covered. Once he discovered he could bark safely a few minutes ago, he was making up for lost time. That's how I figured out the collar was on wrong. Just fixed it, so I'm hoping for solitude again. It was 2 1/2 times as much as the other kind, but if it works (and this quickly), it will be an excellent investment.

Busy day here today. Just wanted to sneak this post in before I run ds to kindergarten.
I was so tempted to kick the SB diet into the garbage can yesterday, but just couldn't do it. I'm so glad I didn't. I weighed in this morning and I'm seeing a difference of 5 lbs. in 7 days. and my tummy is definitely getting smaller!!! Only one more week and I'll add fruit back in.
I had a huge hormonal day yesterday. AF was late and since she arrived on Friday she's been very mean. Dh hid out downstairs most of the afternoon and dd took the boys to the park. Luckily my family is still alive to tell about it!! LOL
Today's workout....1/2 hour on the Stairmaster and UB free weights. I 'm really concentrating on my posture this week. I've been catching myself slouching and I *don't* like it!!!
15 minute project....A whole bunch of them!! It's house cleaning day for me!
Hi, Susan...I don't know if you saw my post to you about flying to Asheville. I think I may want to fly myself. Delta seems to have a good price and good flying times from Islip.
Thanks Phyllis. It feels good. I remember last week when I was cleaning house and running up and down the stairs to do laundry, my legs felt really heavy and tight. This week,....felt great. It's amazing what a difference even 5 lbs. make! I can't imagine how much better 25 will feel!
Hi, Margie - Sorry to tempt your tastebuds by mentioning Federal Hill! Mine were going crazy, too, until DH decided he didn't want to drive around to find a place on the Hill and we ate at Fire+Ice (his first time there, I've been to the one near Copley Square several times), which is right at the mall on the full-service restaurant level. Much safer choices there - it's like an all-you-can-eat buffet, but all the food is raw, you choose your meats, fish, veggies, and sauces, bring it to a big grill, and the cooks cook it up fresh for you. The only real sides are tossed or Caesar salad, fajita-like pancakes (easy to pass up) and white rice (even easier). I know what their desserts are (rich, fresh, delicious, and monstrously portioned), so I wouldn't even let the waiter put the dessert menu on the table; DH was pretty well sated by the time the meal was done, so he wasn't interested, either.
As far as healthy eating and consistent exercising, you'll get there bit by bit. If what I'm trying to do is inspiring you to do more, wonderful. I just want to know that you're doing the best you can, as you can, for yourself and your family. I admire the strength and kindness you've always displayed after the horrible year you had, never mind thinking about new ways to eat and exercise with bigger issues to deal with.
As for loftier topics, I'm so happy to hear that you haven't gone over to the dark side down there in Cowboy country (sorry, Kat!). You know where I'll be on February 1. Wish it could be in Houston, but.....
