The Dr called my sister at home today. She however was at work so as soon as she got the message(about 10 mins later) she called the office. When she called back no one from the office could remember making the call to her!!!!They would check and call her back. That was at 10:30 and by 3:30 she hadn't heard anything back. She called back , was put on hold and then told the Dr would call her back!!!I understand she is not the only patient and this office is busy but this seems so poorly handled to me.Now I'm imagining all kinds of things.Could it be something bad that the Dr wants to make sure he has plenty of time to talk to her?I talked to her a half hour ago and still no word.Hope we hear something soon.

Your poor sister! I'd be totally ticked!! After her experiences, I wouldn't be surprised if she changed doctor's after this! I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers, Patty.

In my experience, only good news is delivered by phone. It would be pretty callous to just

The way your sister is being treated is uncalled for. Usually the doctor doesn't know anything about it...the front office usually does this stuff. I would definitely talk to the doctor about it.

I know it is hard, but try not to think of the worst case scenerio. Think positive thoughts and we will keep praying you get good news.

Hugs to you, Patty, and positive thoughts headed your sister's way. I bet more of his patients go through this type of thing than you think. I think it's appalling. When he finally reaches his patients and gives them the all clear, they're probably so relieved that they just go away until the next appointment and forget about the needless worry. The doctor needs to know that the quality of his staff's performance and their sensitivity to his patients is sub-par, to say the least. I hope your sister's the one to put things to him clearly.

I'm sure things are going to be all right, I'm sure things are going to be all right, I'm sure......

Patty,

To say that your sister has been treated poorly is an understatement. I often think that professional people and their staff should have to sit in the patient's and/or client's position and see how this type of treatment affects them. I hope that by now your sister has heard from them and that she lets them all know what she thinks of the treatment that she has received from their office.

Sending positive thoughts and prayers!

Hugs,

Susan

My hopes are with you Patty. This is uncalled for! Your poor sister. I hope you've heard something by now.

There was a movie a few years back...ok maybe more than a few years...called 'The Doctor.' The gist of the thing is that this really callous and pompous oncologist got cancer and spent some time on the other side of the hospital gown. Pretty eye-opening. I forget who starred in it but maybe you could recommend it to the doc.
