Good Morning. Whatcha thankful for this morning?

What's your workout(s) for the day?

What are your food plans for the day?

What 15 minute project(s) will you tackle and get over with? Tackle a yucky one that will make you feel GREAT that it's finally done (or at least started)!

What's your favorite body lotion? Brand and scent, please.

Have an awesome day!

Sassy

Did you see the link I posted on the SBD (with the required proper disclaimer, of course -- needed that icon you recommended...) about orange juice producers being upset with the low carb diets telling people not to drink orange juice?

Yes, I did. I didn't want to say anything over there that might be misconstrued as flip or humorous by the Fun Police, God forbid. But I do have a couple of comments (me and my big mouth):

About OJ - My GP told me to drink oj with my HBP med, so I do, and I did all through Phase I, and I will continue to do so. Heck, I'm even going to keep using it to baste my Cornish hens before roasting them. So there! The fruit growers have a hard enough time; I'm not going to omit the fruits of their labors from my diet, I'm just going to eat in moderation.

As far as the low-carb food craze: It just confirms what we said yesterday, that the manufacturers are going to jump in and label everything low-carb that they can get away with and charge you your first-born for it. I looked at the labels of some of the Atkins products at GNC last night; if I can't pronounce it, in general, I ain't eatin' it. As for the price - well, remember the old saying "A fool and his money are soon parted".

(planning on being a thin millionaire.....)

PS - How'd you like my apology over there? Pulled out the thesaurus for that one, since I don't have an MS. People will be posting their resumes next.

I'm very thankful that my child has been vindicated! What a nightmare yesterday & last night we went through! Danny never called his dad to pick him up from school (later he said he had tried but the cell phone was not working & there was a huge line of kids impatiently waiting to use the phone so Danny walked across a major highway to Walmart where his dad found him). By then I was a nervous wreck & then his dad called to tell me what Danny had gone thru at school! Poor kid was called into the office from class to be interrogated by the police officer on duty. No principal or any other school official present while Danny was accused of harrassing a child on the bus (Danny hasn't ridden the school bus in almost 3 years!) and was told there was a video tape. Danny said he would be interested to see it, but the cop said no & wouldn't call his dad or me. Danny said he was called a liar when he told the cop he didn't ride the bus. I called the principal yesterday & asked him to make an appointment with me and the cop. This a.m. the cop called me & said he had taken what the other child said with a grain of salt (and we know this child - his dad used to work with my ex husband) but that the mother had called the school to report that my son had said he was harassing him at school and on the bus. He said the child has had other incidents of not telling the truth. My ex said he remembered the boy had a chemical imbalance. Anyway, the cop told me he would talk to the boy again & call me back. He called me back & said the boy had changed his story about 10 times & it finally came down to a "friend of Danny's who rides the bus". I asked the cop to please let Danny know that everything was alright & to please call the mother and let her know that Danny was not the one harrassing her son. Good grief!! Being a mom is so hard! I was quite offended that this happened with no call to my ex or me and that Danny was not handed any documentation by any school official, yet he was threatened with a $500 fine, called a liar, etc. I kept my cool, though.

Did not have a bad eating & in fact, 1:00 p.m. was the last time I ate yesterday! Went to bed a nervous wreck! I did clean house last night too! Wonder of wonders!

Anyway, I'm so grateful, that ds and I are going out to dinner to eat some Mexican food (have some coupons!) and I am going to have some fajitas (no sour cream or guacamole, though).

I like Burberry Touch scented stuff. Love the Burberry Brit, but can't afford right now.

I know what you mean. It seems that everything is suspect or unacceptable over there lately, although I do think all the feedback has made them have to be a little more realistic and open-minded than they were. It was downright stifling, which is why I had stopped posting a while back (That and a dozen folders). I even said I was getting paranoid about posting things this morning. Thank goodness for Shan and Ria to keep it real over there!

I was driving home from Walmart this afternoon and

SO sorry to hear about Danny's (and your) ordeal and really glad he was vindicated. You are a stronger woman than I to have remained so nice and calm through it all. I'm afraid I'd have been all over someone.

Hugs,

Rhonda

Thanks, Rhonda. Don't think I don't wish to write a letter to the superintendant & the editor of the paper on this! If I only had to think of myself, I would. That school district has their priorities wrong for sure.

Fresh squeezed orange juice, no sugar added, I'm sure is allowed! I wouldn't buy OJ for DS today because of the sugar. He was shocked when he saw all of the sugar added. Better to eat the whole orange.

Yum - now you've got me thinking about fresh-squeezed oj. Except I don't have a juicer (don't have the room in the kitchen to keep it handy), and I get my arm workouts from weights. I can't remember the last time I saw any place around here that gives you fresh-squeezed.

Hey, think a cabana boy would provide me with fresh oj every morning (that's all I want him for, Sassy!)??

No fruit or fruit juice is allowed in Phase I of SBD to get your metabolism back on track, so to speak. It really is better to eat the whole orange to get the fiber, and it's more filling, but don't tell the OJ people I said that. ;-)
