Okay, working out DID make me energetic and the shower and shave and face mask WILL make me gorgeous (comparatively speaking to what I look like now, of course). But it is still dreary, gray with freezing rain. BLECK.

Got in a quick mile on the dreadmill...as long as I could stand it! Awesome lat pull-downs and bent-over rows for the back, mega squats and lunges for the legs, hips and thighs. Ate a Dr. Phil approved breakfast of one egg, scrambled and a bowl of special K with strawberries and skim milk. I'm LONGING for a latte, though...we'll see.

Kick it into gear, girls. We've got to work thru these winter blues and keep our eyes focused on the prize...SPRING!

Love ya.

Sassy

Hmmm. Got home from work. Went shopping and bought new workout shoes and nice warm socks for my stormboots. Went home. Ate dinner. Fell asleep. No cardio. Just about time for bed after I finish reading the posts.

Tomorrow's another day.

What kind of shoes did you get?

I didn't find a combo run/walk shoe, so I went for a running shoe. Nike Pegasus, because I'm so fleet afoot and such a big-time runner (you can get off the floor when you stop laughing). Got them on sale, too. I can still wear my old run/walk shoes on the days when I'm just walking.

I really love my wooly socks. Wish I had found them before the -30 below temps hit, but better late than never.

I always purchased running shoes, long before I actually "ran" (running up and down the stairs to the fridge counts, right ;). Running shoes tend to be more comfy to me, more cushion, I suppose!

Your sox sound yummy :)

I'd stop short of defining socks as yummy. But they are really cozy. 65% wool content, and the rest of the fabrics give them stretch, softness, and ventilation. They were labeled as hiking socks, so I figure I got the best combo of fabrics for what I need inside my fuzzy (but surprisingly not warm) boots.

BTW, not taking up hiking real soon, either.....

The expert guy who fitted me said to always buy running shoes even when you walk. I forget why now, but I've been very happy with my running shoes even though the only time I run is if it's raining or there's a good sale!

I think Thorlo socks are great, but I've found some I like even better for some times, and those are the Nikken heavy, far-infrared technology socks with arch support. I sleep in them sometimes, and so help me, I sleep better. The far-infrared helps keep your feet from keeping too hot or too cold. I also love the tweedy rag-type socks when I wear clog style, open-back shoes.
