I recognize you guys from the SBD board, too. And I feel like I have caused some long debates to say the least with some of my posts. I have been learning a lot about nutrition in the last 13 months or so due to my own health problems. Some have been resolved with a hysterectomy, others are persisting. One of my favorite sites is www.mercola.com and I know you Rhonda know of it as well. I also just got Dr. Mercola's book Total Health, I read The No-Grain Diet, and I have The Metabolic Typing Diet. All excellent books and all I wanted to do was share some of it. :)

Anyway, it's great to be on this board and thank you ALL for the warm welcome and replies to my post on calorie counting. It is much appreciated.

Kristina, I'm so glad you decided to join us. One thing you'll find is that we do like to learn various ideas, and we're much more open about discussing them in an atmosphere of friendship. Even if we don't always agree and it turns into a lively, stimulating

I had posted that Splenda link on the ED board - that's where I am a CL. One woman was kind of upset or frustrated about it. Not that I posted it but about what to use. One of the hardest things for me was giving up sweets, including sugar free stuff. But once I did I realized I am not craving them anymore all day long. Now I put 1/2 pack of Splenda in a cup of tea if any. I really want to get away from it completely.

Dr. Mercola is great but VERY extreme. How he lives the way he recommends is beyond me. Every function, party, or event we go to revolves around food and it's never the good kind.

Kristina, lately it seems that anyone who says anything original, humorous, thought-provoking, whatever over on SBD risks the stings of a thousand bees! I don't mind a good discussion; I mind self-proclaimed experts who are no more than pills and wet blankets who never learned to laugh at themselves. Seems to be a lot of that type over there, and they're drowning the people I want to hear from - the ones like me who are thrilled that this program has worked for them and love to share the news (and, heaven forbid, eat a real cookie once in a while and talk about it).

Anyway, enough about that. I'm glad to see you've dropped in over here and hope to see you around a lot!
