Because of the weather, I've continually had to cancel and reschedule my doctor's appointment, but I think my problem is going to turn out to be IBS. I know that you have struggled with it. Got any good sites about how to deal with it, help it, etc? without meds?

It's so weird. I posted about it here last night, then clicked over to the SBD board and the first post was about someone needing answers about IBS. To make a long story short, in my case, the thing that helps me most is when I cut out dairy and grain foods. I found that out back when I tried the Atkins Diet and suddenly my stomach got better. I had only 3 incidents in 6 months, which is the best I've done since I was 22. I find when I stick to Phase I of SBD that I get the same results. The problem is my cravings and weak willpower when it comes to carbs. Eventually, I go back to the bad ones.
I've had colonoscopies, upper and lower GI series, and other tests, but no one ever thought to say to me, "What do you eat? Does anything in particular seem to trigger it other than roughage (Eat a bland diet, which has lots of dairy and grains.)? Let's test you for food allergies." That's one example of many drs. just not being that much into nutrition. I think it gets barely touched on in med. school.
