Huge Hugs Nancy, I think we have all been there, I KNOW I have. Maybe you could start out by trying a few subsitutions until you can fully get back on track and the cravings go away. Have you tried the Pure De-Lite chocolate bars? They are wonderful (dark choc. is my fav) and they have almost no carbs at all. I break one off in chunks and let it slowly melt in my mouth with some decaf as an evening snack. It lasts a long time that way and is very satisying when you're craving sweets. The Endulge bars are great, too. Something else I have done is buy the fat free/sugar free instant choc. pudding and eat that with a little fat free cool whip on top. I don't eat much, just enough to satisfy any sweet craving I might have.

It takes a week or two for the cravings to disappear but after that, doing without the donuts will get easier and easier.

Don't get down on yourself hon, we have all done this and felt this way before. Just try and think of ways you can do a little better each day. Change one thing and then another, until you have everything back on track again. In the meantime, I am sure you already know you can lean on myself and all these other ladies here for support.

Hugs!!

Hi Nancy,

I agree with the others - we all have times when we simply can't stick to a healthy food plans. And bad habits are easily formed but much harder to get rid of. If you can do this, try to stay away from all sweets, even sweeteners for a few days. It's hard the very first day but your cravings WILL go away. I was the sugar free queen and thought I would never ever be able to give up sweets. I used to put 3 packs of Splenda in one cup of tea several times throughout the day. Shortly after finishing one I was looking for the next sweet thing. When I finally stopped, the cravings stopped. Now I put 1/2 a pack in my tea if any.

You may also want to journal like someone else suggested. Food is often used for comfort and we aren't even aware that we are doing so. Have you had a lot of stress in your life lately? Maybe you could journal every night or every morning what's on your mind, what's bothering you, what makes you sad, etc. but also what you are grateful for.

Hang in there and keep posting to get support - we all need it!!!
