I just started going to the SBD board recently and noticed the other day that Joyce had a very serious post to everyone. Did you both catch that? Are there issues there that I should be aware of?

If you read the one about whether to weigh every day or not started by Shan and one I did a week or two about about Splenda, you'll see the problem. Both posts were very innocent, but some of the CL's manage to make them into a big issue. There are some very outspoken members over there who don't let it slide.

Hi, Tweety - I haven't looked at Rhonda's response because I don't want to be influenced by it. That board is populated by by-the-book types and not-so-strict types who are equally vocal about what works and what doesn't work. Some have a great sense of humor and of the ridiculous (and they include themselves in there), and others are trying to find their ground and come across as deadly serious scolds. I know weight problems are very personal and sometimes painful experiences; they can be deadly. Personally, I'm sick of the sniping that goes on because someone dares to express an opinion, or worse, when everyone automatically assumes you're being insulting when all you're trying to do is be playful. Everyone over there should just lighten up - a lot! I think the dynamics between each of the 3 individual cls and the members is fascinating. I won't say more than that here - maybe I'll think on it a little more and e-mail you. If you spend more time on-line reading the posts - and I think you were trying to pull away from spending so much time at the computer, am I correct? - you'll see the dynamics more clearly.

I like it here better....

Hmmmmm. You've piqued my interest. I think I'll wander back over there and check it out! I've lurked on and off over there but don't have time to keep up with our board here, let alone start on another one.

You've got such a great attitude...:)

Thank you so much for your responses. I did find the one about weighing in everyday (which, by-the-way had many of the posts deleted already) but never did find the one where Rhonda posted about Splenda. I guess I feel every board has is ups and downs and after a long struggle with this sort of thing in the past, I've decided I will go to the boards and take from it what I want and nothing more. I visit about 4 different ones very quickly every day only to get info to keep me going on my workouts and diet. That board is very interesting and filled with much information that I use daily since I've started going. I guess I didn't notice the fighting because I try not to get too involved with any of the boards I visit anymore. Plus I just don't have the time to sit and read every post like I use to. Yes, Donna you are right. I have cut back on my computer time tremendously and I'm glad I have. I've made many friends and I'm truly grateful to all of them. Please email me anytime. Those posts I DO read and daily! Thanks again to you both for your responses and input. Have a wonderful day ladies!

Both threads are long and got about 6,000 or so views each, so there was intense interest.

WHOA!! Thanks for sharing these with me Rhonda! Wow! That board has some serious problems. Thanks again for passing these on. I will continue to lurk there but definitely plan on keeping my opinions to myself! If you do hear from the Dr. please email his response, okay? Thanks, lisa
