What sort of planner are you....

I'm really trying to focus on planning and organizing and cleaning and tossing out, etc., etc., and I'm wondering how you all do some things. If you have a moment, please answer the following questions for me and toss out any other tips and things that work for you.
1. Are you a horizonal planner (plan your entire week out) or a vertical planner (plan your entire day out by the hour)?
2. Do you have a cleaning schedule set in stone (as much as one can be)? Describe (briefly) what it is.
3. Do you do laundry on specific days of the week or randomly when you have a free moment?
4. Do you do an entire load, start to finish to include folding and putting away in drawers, all as one "load"?
5. Do you use a wall calendar? counter top planner? PDA? Outlook or someother calendar software on your computer? Other?
6. Are you a "keeper" or a "trasher"? (For example, I become emotionally attached to everything and can't bear to part with things.)
Thanks for your help! I'm sooooo struggling here!

2)No, clean as the mood strikes me.
3)Pretty much do laundry every day around here.
4)Try to but it has been known to stay in dryer awhile.
5)Wall calendar
6)I used to be more of a keeper but lately more of a tosser, much less clutter that way.If I want to hold onto a card or magazine article I put it in my journal.

1) I like this question - never thought of it in these terms. I guess I'm a horizontal planner. It comes from my job. It's completely deadline driven. I have to plan the work and stick to it and, most important, finish. I guess I do the same thing out of work - give myself a set time to accomplish Action A, and just do it and get it off the board. Especially the big stuff - those little 15-minute tasks sometimes get in the way, so I'll save a bunch of them for one day and knock them off all at once.
2) Cleaning schedule - Bathroom gets cleaned every Saturday, clockwork. Dusting, vacuuming, dustmopping the hardwoods get done in that order Saturday or Sunday. Changing the bed linens - every Sunday. Washing bathroom and kitchen floors - every 2 weeks unless I drop something major in the kitchen, then it gets done at that moment. Those are the key things.
3) Laundry - I toss a load in whenever I go down to the dungeon for a workout. Seems like I'm always doing the towels. DH generally does most of the laundry - he's really good about it.
4) Yes. DH is pretty good about putting the stuff that can get wrinkled away promptly. He's less careful about towels and sheets.
5) Wall calendar at home, desktop calendar at work. Don't own a PDA, can't be bothered with my computer calendar.
6) I'm a trasher married to a keeper. It's not that I'm unemotional about things, but once they've worn out or broken down with no hope of being fixed, it's time to go - as long as the municipal trash collection will take them (anybody want 4 broken VCRs?). I guess where I don't have kids, I don't have those things around that tug at your heartstrings. Although I have to say I still have every little piece of "art" that my niece and nephew have created for me on "arts n' krats" visits here!

No - I'm a get it done on the weekend kind of gal (if I'm off as I am this one) or when I can.

No - randomly
4. Do you do an entire load, start to finish to include folding and putting away in drawers, all as one "load"?
Yep.

Paper calendars EVERYWHERE!!!!

I'm becoming a TRASHER!! This lady gave me a bunch of gorgeous wool blazers on Fri. & I gave half away already. I know if I like something or not right away. I hate clutter & even though I live in a small place, I am clearing out & getting ready for spring cleaning. The only things I have trouble parting with are my books (I mainly have nonfiction reference type books). To me, food for the mind is more important than clothes, shoes, kitchen gadgets, electronics, cosmetics, etc. However, I am REALLY, REALLY trying to be better about it. Why today, I even gave the Goodwill 3 of my books. I will have to donate some to the library, too, Deb. Thanks for that hint.
I feel so cleansed after cleaning out my room today (except for the stairstepper that I have to borrow a truck to dispose of) and cleaning out a hall closet. I put alot of stuff in my storage room out of sight! Took a humongous amount of stuff to the Goodwill. Also, I have started a Princess type binder with stuff I collect about fitness & health. I think I will start other binders, too (spiritual, Danny's school stuff, nostalgia & stuff from my friends, recipes, self-help articles, decorationing, etc.) People out here get into the scrapbooking big time! I don't have that kind of money or time to make mine cutsie, but it is a great idea. Thanks for sharing your secret, Princess!
