about this avian flu story? I heard about some Delaware chicken flocks being killed and was wondering how or if this is affecting you. I certainly hope not negatively, or causing you undue worry.

Not very concerned at this point.I know alot of people will associate it with the flu overseas but it is a different strain.Typically in US birds are killed even if there is no threat to to the consumers. It protects the public and helps slow down the spread of disease.Avian flu is alot like people flu, it comes in different forms.I've had birds have it and not know it til they are checked at the plant. They are always tossed out and never make it any further. And just like people, birds are more prone to respitory problems this time of year.Hopefully everything will be handled well and this will not cause a major problem for us.But there is always the potential for great loss of income and that is a reality of what we do.Thanks for asking.
