Phyllis, hope you were able to get some more sleep.

I think today may be a slide workout. Or if I can get everything to fall in place, I may watch Oprah while I'm on the treadmill.I've been trying to get my workouts done in the morning.Too many things can come up in the afternoon and interfere with workout time.

Lots of thankfuls.Thankful for a card that showed up in my email to make me smile.Thankful for time to be with friends.Thankful for this board and the people on it.It means so much to be able to come here with concerns and know you all wil be here to care.

Miss P

Good morning! Computer is fixed - so glad! I'm off to do a 3 mi. run. This evening, will take ds for a haircut and later after dinner, I will try to get a Firm Total Body workout and ab work in.

I'm thankful for all that God has given me - the basics are numerous and I have quite a few frills compared to alot of folks. You are so right, Phyllis! I am so fortunate compared to alot of people.

I'm glad you reminded me of getting some type of workout in - maybe even 15 min. on those days I sleep late and work nights!

Good Morning. These weeks are killing me! Next week I'll get back into the groove of daily workouts. Wait...I said that LAST week and the week BEFORE. Darn it. Well, I WILL get back into the groove eventually. Let's just pray it happens sooner than later. It will happen tomorrow morning and this weekend. Nice temps moving in so I'll get out and power walk my way to the lake and back each morning. My skinny jeans no longer fit and my comfy jeans are getting less comfy.

No workout today. Have to get DH showered and then my own shower and I'll be off to work.

My main thankful is that DH came thru knee surgery just fine. He was very brave ;) Surgery went better/faster than expected. Less damage than expected. Scoped the rest of the knee for other damage and his knee was pronounced great...for an athletic man in his mid-40's. He didn't like that at all, but better than the alternative in my mind. A little arthritic damage happening, but nothing major. He's bounced back nicely today, after quite a bit of whining and clinging late yesterday. Thank goodness he slept!

Other thanksfuls...things are moving forward with DD. We meet with the school psychologist Monday morning to get the results of her testing. From there, we move to meeting the group that will determine if she is eligible for any type of special ed program and what all of that will entail, if she is. The problem appears to be that she is really smart, and depending on how the lesson is taught, retains it all. But just can't put that to paper (as in tests). Orally and visually, she does great. Just don't ask her to process it and put it on paper. Funny thing is, though, that she has a great imagination and loves to write stories and poems. It will be interesting to see what the psychologist says about her IQ and learning abilities.

Off and running.

Hugs.

Miss you guys!

Sassy

So...did that deflate DH's ego a little bit...."for a 40 year old athletic man"?

He was a bit put out by that pronouncement, but I reminded him of his contemporaries who are looking at knee replacements! That brought him around and returned the cheeky smile to his handsome puss.

The cleaning crew was awesome! They were here for 2 hours! They gave the place a thorough scrubbing and Lord, did it need it! Now I'll get someone in to maintain it every two weeks. This company is too expensive to come in regularly. I'm like psycho woman about the house now (more psycho than usual ;) and I'm harrassing everyone about keeping things picked up, clean, etc.

Sassy :)

Good morning!

Phyllis - You need a nap today. Take one!

Susan/bnl - How are you feeling today?

It's a nice day in Beantown. Again, the temperature looks cold, but without the wind, even 29 degrees is bearable. If it warms up a little more by noon, I'm taking a walk.

Workout tonight - the long one. During my cardio last night, I did manage one 90-sec running interval and didn't feel unduly winded or pained, but I also had a pretty good energy day. I feel off today because I didn't sleep much - I read until 12:45 and awoke around 4:30. Ugh. No one to blame for that except me.

Thankfuls: for the basics that make life good, for the occasional extras that make life sweet, and for the ability to work for it all. And for a DH who keeps the laundry basket empty!

Have a great day, everyone!

Donna

I like the Psalm you shared today - I've turned to that before when I get baffled by the world's values. The quote from Louise Hay couldn't be more timely.

Workout - Body Sculpt/abs. I want to strengthen the legs significantly so that I can start running again, without any muscle pulls. My hip... seems to be just about over it's muscle strain. Yippee!

Thankful... On the non-spiritual side, I'm thankful that we know where Allison will be going to Kindergarten - her name was not drawn for the magnet schools where we applied, and so she'll be going to an excellent public school for which we are zoned. I know she'll get a great education and school experience there. (In fact, after visiting the public school, I favored it over one of the magnet schools.) I'm thankful that I can be truly happy for three of my friends, who aren't as fortunate in their zoning, whose children *were* selected for the magnet schools.

On the spiritual side, there's so much. I'm thankful for forgiveness in two ways: that with His strength and trust in Him, we really can; and that He's there with His own grace and forgiveness if we turn to Him. I'm thankful that I'm taking a daring step sharing my feelings with my parents, knowing that it could make things worse, but finally no longer hiding or burying the hurt. I'm so thankful for friends offering spiritual advice, and thankful that He works in so many ways to guide us if we only listen with the ears of our soul.

Glad your dh got thru his surgery ok. I imagine that is hard for a grown, active man to be a little dependent for awhile, not to mention hear the doctor give him an indication that life is different as the years progress! I sympathize!

Hope your meeting with your dd's school goes well about the test results. I can imagine all of your kids to be highly intelligent - why look where they get that from! Is she in 7th grade? My ds had one of his worst years last year, and the school warned us about how 7th grade was going to be very tough on our adolescents. Danny made good report card grades, but began the year with a couple of really horrendous test grades! I was beginning to wonder what happened to him, but I realized that was a growth spurt. He felt awkward and the work load added to it. I didn't ground him for the scores, yet told him I knew that he had it in him to pick up the pace and make better scores. It's amazing how people "feed" off of the encouragement - kind of like momentum.

Will be thinking of you & your dd.

Good morning,

My workout for the day will start with a couple of miles walking. Heading down to the bakery with Max to meet up with a girlfriend for coffee. Just coffee!!! No baked goodies for me today!

I promised Adam I would walk over and pick him up from kindergarten today, so that'll add a couple more miles. The sun is shining with just a bit of a nip in the air, so it should be pretty pleasant.

Got sidetracked and didn't get my closets done yesterday, so that's on the agenda for this afternoon. I'm determined to get my wardrobe paired down and spruced up!

What's for dinner tonight? We are having BBQ steaks (Ugh, there's that red meat again!) and a big huge plateful of mixed veggies and perhaps a bit of quinoa from last night. Bought a big bag of sweet delicious oranges yesterday and will slice some up for dessert.

Hockey game is on tonight, so I'm planning on grabbing the handweights while I watch. Does jumping up and down cheering count as exercise? :o)

My Thursday thankfuls,....pretty much everything. I'm thankful that our household is relatively healthy again. DD has picked up some bacterial infection, but is on antibiotics and so everything is under control. I'm thankful that my dh is such a sweet guy and I'm thankful that my darling little boys are finally managing to play nicely together without trying to kill each other!! LOL Oh, and I'm very, very thankful that spring is just around the corner.

Have a goo day ladies!

Of course it does! I counted it all through football season! Good for the quads and glutes ......
