I don't know if I believe this or not

After a little hiccup on tuesday, wednesday I made it through the first day of SBD with only a little angst. In my mind I ate way too much stuff to be on a diet though.
Scales yesterday morning: 197#
Scales this morning: 192.5#
No, it's right, I checked and double checked. But how is that possible? Must be water weight.
But for today I feel skinny.

Some of it might be water weight, all of it might be water weight. When you let go of carbs, a lot of fluid goes, too. Who cares? It's still a boost to see that kind of a change overnight. Enjoy it! BTW, don't be entirely surprised if you see 190 quickly.
Glad you got through it!

As I posted yesterday, I've gone through Phase I twice now. I'm in Phase II, and what is working for me is to try and aim for Phase I type eating with a few modifications. If I feel the need to cheat...I'll have fruit and sometimes for breakfast I have steel cut oats instead of eggs. (Still working on that cholesterol issue). When I first started into my quest for health, I didn't particularly enjoy brown rice, but now I've found a couple of mixed varieties that are absolutely ahlicious!
I think my saturated fat intake is still to high and I need to trim some more red meat from my diet. But, hey, I'm a work in progress. I'm getting better all the time!!!
Good luck! Make sure to get that water in. It's amazing what a difference it makes!

Congratulations! Here's one short paragraph from the book that I think is at the core of this way of eating and why it's successful:
" Decrease the consumption of those 'bad' carb, studies showed, and the insulin resistance starts clearing up on its own. Weight begins a fairly rapid decrease, and you begin metabolizing carbs properly. Even the craving for carbs disappears once you cut down on their consumption. Finally, cutting out processed carbs improves blood chemistry, ultimately resulting in lowered triclycerides and cholesterol."
Something I'm investigating on my own backs up why he doesn't want people to stay on Phase I too long. If you deprive yourself of too many good carbs for too long, your body will decrease the production of Leptin, which is a hormone-like protein,

Thanks for the words of wisdom. I'm trying to be careful and I do pretty well during the day at work, but the evenings are bu**er. But I'm told it will get easier. I still want toast with my eggs...
You may have something with that IV Leptin.
