1. What are you wearing today?

***Really dressed up -- sort of a blue-gray chenille looking sweatshirt with the word "Florida" embroidered in large darker blue gray on the front, straight leg jeans, and Adidas rubber sandals.

2. What's the next book or magazine you're starting?

***I'm working on 3 now, but am almost finished, so The Enemy Within is waiting in the wings.

3. What's your ideal style house (if money were no object)?

***Funny how my taste has changed over the years from a big, brick

1. What are you wearing today? Black yoga pants and white fitted t-shirt

2. What's the next book or magazine you're starting? The Discipline Book by William Sears. I want to find an effective way of dealing with the boys when they are threatening to clobber each other,....among other things.

3. What's your ideal style house (if money were no object)? I would love to have a new big old Victorian style house, with lots of architectural character. Double paned wood casement windows, hardwood floors, a huge kitchen with a butler's pantry, a big master bedroom suite with a walk-in closet. A few dormer bedrooms, some great office/studio space and a living/family room Looking out over the ocean right here in Victoria!

4. Where would you like to go to dinner this weekend? I would love to go to Periklis restaurant. It's an authentic Greek restaurant down by the water and they have Greek dancing and music on the weekends. Yummm....I may just have to make lamb for dinner tonight!

5. What shape are your fingernails, and if they're polished what color are they?

My finger nails are at the stage where I'm going to be cutting them off!!!! I had them all polished up last week with a nice pale pink/mauvey colour that I got for Christmas. But, alas, I use my fingernails as tools and never wear rubber gloves. This week they are at the stage where half of them have broken and the other half are threatening to. I keep catching them on things, so I'll just cut them back.

1) Casual Friday: jeans, a red snakeskin print blouse, and boots.

2) Another Dan Brown novel, "Angels and Demons"

3) A tie: a rambling Shingle style house designed by either Robert Stern or Michael Graves and featured within the last year or so in Architectural Digest. Or a new house on Grove Street in Wellesley, MA - sand-color brick Georgian style with cream paint trim, columns, porches, wonderful window details 3-car garage, all beautifully symmetrical and well set on a good sized level lot. A McMansion, maybe, but not overscaled for the location between the Dana Hall School (la-di-da) and Wellesley College (la-di-da-da).

4) New Orleans (I presume this is an oh-what-the-heck question....)

5) My nails are in terrible shape. No need to call attention to them with polish.

Fun questions, Rhonda! Thanks....

At one point, I wanted a Victorian too. They really are neat. I have a set of blueprints that I never used.

I'm also bad about using my nails as tools and not wearing gloves. My younger sister is just the opposite, and you can sure see the difference in our hands. Of course, she also hires people to do most of the manual labor around her place too, and that makes a difference, as well. ;-)

1. What are you wearing today?

Flared, faded jeans & a cream colored sweater form Old Navy w/ankle boots

2. What's the next book or magazine you're starting?

No clue, since I'm reading "Under the Tuscan Sun", "The Purpose Driven Life", "The Power of a Praying Woman", and one other book about women getting thru troubling times. I'll be exhausted after getting thru these! LOL! I would like to read a paperback I bought a while back "Angels and Demons" by the same author who wrote "The DaVinci Code" (which I have in hardback because I was so curious about the book & it was great!)

3. What's your ideal style house (if money were no object)?

I'd love an American Federal mansion!!! We have them all over Longview in the wealthy neighborhoods, so it must be the thing out here still.

I love this one: http://architecture.about.com/library/bl-federalist.htm

4. Where would you like to go to dinner this weekend?

In town, The Bistro, but if I had my way, some nice little place in San Francisco or if I REALLY could have my way, a wonderful Italian restaurant in Italy!

5. What shape are your fingernails, and if they're polished what color are they?

I used to have them done with a french manicure, but no funds for that so I clip them (since I don't have the time for upkeep).

I was wearing a brown corduroy skirt and pink sweater.

The book I'm starting next is The Meme Machine by Susan Blackmore

Ideal house is a villa in the Italian countryside with an old brick oven and a huge fireplace and...

Actually, staying in for dinner sounds like a nice change...

My fingernails are simple, slightly rounded, unpolished.

Woodlawn is absolutely gorgeous. You'd probably love Monticello, Carter's Grove, and some of the other James River Plantations. I LOVE to look at that kind of architecture and usually love the interior details. It's just too formal for me to live in even though that's the kind of furniture I have (Queen Ann, Chippendale, and Heppelwhite). I'll have to see if I can find a link to the style house I'd like to live in now.

Craftsman is neat. Are you a Frank Lloyd Wright fan at all? I went through his house and saw the outside of 5 others outside of Chicago in the 80's.
