Things went well

My sisters surgery went well. It was a fibroid and they removed it.Because of her pain and our distance from the hospital they decided to keep her over night. She should be coming home early tomorrow. She surprised me by asking me to go with her during the pre-op. I thought Mom would go.Just about the time they were ready for her another Dr had to deliver a baby which threw his surgery off and of course everyone elses. What a great moment when the nurse came to get me to tell me it was only a fibroid! The dr really threw me off by saying just before surgery that everything would depend on whether it was a fibroid or tumor. Then afterwards he came back and said it was just what he thought, a fibroid!!!Very confusing guy!.Just so glad it was that and will be so happy to bring her home tomorrow.

A sorta strange thing happened while at the hospital. My sister and I were waiting for them to take her back and a nurse received a personal call.We could hear enough to know that someone that she knew had just passed away and a few other details..She was very upset. When we got home my parents neighbor came to tell them about a friend of theirs who had passed away.It was the same person the nurse had gotten the call about but at the time I hadn't made the connection.

Thanks so much for the good thoughts, they were so appreciated.

YYYYAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

That is so wonderful. I'm sorry she's in so much pain. At least they kept her and didn't send her home with some tylenol with codeine. Wait...that's actually sounding sort of appealing! A mini vacation...tylenol with codeine :)

Sorry...got distracted!

Seriously. I'm very happy for your sister. Glad you were there for her.

Hugs.

Sassy

Really happy to hear it was a fibroid and they were able to remove it. She'll probably feel so much better within days. I had a friend I went with to have surgery to have several removed, and after they were gone, she stopped having all kinds of bad problems she'd had for years. I know it was a comfort to her to have you there.

That's great news Princess!!! Even though home is more comfortable, sometimes the hospital is the best place to be after surgery! I'm sure she'll be right as rain in no time.

Thank you for the update! I bet you're incredibly relieved! I'm so glad to hear that things went easily (if belatedly) and that it was only a fibroid.

I'm so glad, Patty! Hope she recovers from that surgery soon.

Yes, doctors are confusing enough and the public is reacting more and more these days. We had protestors on the streets outside one of our hospitals about certain doctors. I noticed CNN had a story about doctors who don't or can't answer questions - advice was to seek another doctor's opinion and to check the AMA on the doctor in question.

Will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Hallelujah! But, man, give the guy an Oscar for the suspense. Good grief, right to the end.

Anyway, I'm glad it was what it was, and not something worse. Now sis can recover with that big unknown no longer hovering over her.
