I agree with Phyllis' choice of words to describe the movie. I just returned from seeing it and I can barely speak. I had to hide my eyes thru some of it, too. There wasn't a dry eye in the theater, I bet, and applause broke out at the end of the movie in our theater, too.

I won't describe scenes, since alot of you will be seeing this later, but those who have, do you agree that the portrayal of Satan was quite unexpected? Satan's reaction after the crucifixion, of course, made sense since he is our accuser before God, but I was unprepared for it. Alot of surprises for me, in addition to the emotional sorrow of watching Jesus die a slow and agonizing death. I don't think any human could begin to sacrifice in the ways that Jesus did - I'm very thankful to him, too. It is quite unfathomable to the human mind just what Jesus gave to us when he died on that cross.
