It was well worth the visit. Lots of walking. LOTS of walking. Did I say lots of walking? In 4 hours, we didn't even see the gardens, since they weren't blooming, only the mansion itself and the tropical conservatory. There are tons of walking paths around the grounds too. Never made it to the winery. If we visit as a group in October, we ought to count for at least a half-day, but we still couldn't squeeze it all in. Cost, not cheap. $36. Makes you want to get your money's worth for certain.

There is a lot to see at Biltmore Estate. Isn't there 4 different tours or something like that you can do? I know we chose to do the mansion itself when we went and walked around the gardens. That is a steep admission...but it is worth it.

I knew it was fairly high from when we went, but it was worth it. Can you imagine living in that??? I also loved the gardens. I've also been told a tour of the winery is really worth while. We didn't do that before.

Hmmm...thinking more and more that the tour of the grounds would be great on horseback.

I could *DEFINITELY* go for a horseback tour! I love horseback riding. And a massage afterward. Could we arrange for massages? After a shower of course... ;-)

The last time I was on a horse was when I sold mine.

I have to admit the thought of me and a horse brings scary thoughts to my mind. I did go riding with my church youth group-you will notice "youth" group and I was a bit of a scary sight then...

Not excited at all about riding for hours. Not because I'm skittish about it, I just don't want to ride for any length of time and then sit on a plane for 4 hours or so the next day. I'd rather walk the estate.

I've ridden a horse 3 times in my life. It's not on my list of things to do again, though I'd do it if the group decided to. I'd want one that doesn't go above a walk! Trotting or running horses aren't my speed.

The last time I was on horseback, my horse and another horse started tussling with each other. I was hemmed against a high garden wall, and the other rider couldn't get her horse out of the way. I grabbed the top of the wall and slung myself out of harm's way.
