Congratulations! How exciting -- I would be ecstatic! We had put down money on a lot/house the summer before 9/11, then decided we'd better wait, and it turned out to be a good thing we did at that time. Keep us posted on your progress, and if you can, post the floor plan. I love to look at plans especially since I used to work with builders for a living.

I'm having a good day. Thermometer says it's 85 glorious degrees out!! Windows are open, and at this rate, the AC may be on tomorrow. Got my hair cut shorter and kind of "perky" so it's not in my eyes now. Got the newsletter disk up to the printer, the address labels are printed, I got a red boa for a Red Hat anniversary party, got the gift wrapped for the birthday luncheon tomorrow, and am almost finished baking the carrot cake. It smells so good! I was going to wait until tomorrow AM to bake the brownies, but think I may do that tonight to have it out of the way, since I have to be at Cindy's at 11.

Once the cake is finished, I'm going to head outside to rake. It's just too beautiful to stay inside, the yard really needs it, and so do I!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Good idea, Phyllis!!

When I was younger I liked having a big yard, but now that I'm older and have back/neck problems, unless I left a lot of it natural I wouldn't be able to keep it up the way I'd like. I'm doing well to keep up with the one I have. I'm not sure what size it is, but it's in a development. What a difference a spine makes!

It's been a good day here.Another mild day which is so great. The wheel barrow turned out to be such a good idea that I got 2.I know, I know,it seems a bit much but I am a Princess!

In between CL jobs I got outside for a run. It was so nice outside I felt like I could run forever.Turns out forever is about 34 mins.

I had to laugh at the thought of me running around cooking and stuff in a boa. I really don't wear those around the house. LOL! I do tend to multi-task often, but I think that's a woman's nature. I even read while I watch TV a lot of the time.

The features in your house sound so nice. I know you'll be thrilled when it's finished. Also, know what you mean about neighborhoods. After a point, the new owners just don't seem to care the way the earlier ones did and they do sometimes go to rentals. That's what's happened in my parents' neighborhood. They bought the house when it was built in 1962, and it's changed a lot. Our house is about the same age as yours. We're at the point where we're having to have things repaired or replaced. It's still a pretty decent neighborhood, although there are a couple of the newer neighbors I'm not crazy about.

Boy, after having the oven running, I may have to turn on the AC after all!
