Congratulations to your ds! That is wonderful! Your ds sounds like a very talented and creative young man, so it's no surprise he's so smart, also.

Did your dd enjoy her trip to MA and NH?

My 3 dinner mates had kabobs - chicken for DH and FIL, lamb for MIL. The kabobs are served with hummus, a rice pilaf that has pieces of meat in it, and grilled pepper/onion/tomato. The hummus is made fresh every day and is so different tasting from the prepackaged stuff. I had something called loubye - it's chunks and shreds of lamb stewed with flat green beans, tomatoes, mint, nutmeg, and a few other spices I can't identify. It's served with a different kind of rice pilaf - no meat, you can see threads of vermicelli in it, and it's unbelievably buttery tasting but not fatty looking; I ate half of it. The restaurant serves two kinds of salads - one is a traditional iceberg salad with a lemon and olive oil dressing, cucumbers, tomatoes, and parsley; the other is called a fatoush salad - it has iceberg lettuce, a similar dressing, lots of chopped mint and parsley, celery seed, green pepper, radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, and toasted pita chips. I could live on this!

Are you hungry yet?

Yes, I'm starving! I like the prepackaged hummus, so I know I'd love that! The whole dinner sounds scrumptious. Someday, I would love to eat some good couscous. I've had some Pakistani homecooking before - talk about spicy food!!! My mouth was on fire and the cook told me she tried not to make it too spicy.

The fitness weekend sounds so fun Phyllis, we have one coming up in April.

YIPPEE is right! Another reason I've been missing your posts - you always describe the most delicious foods! Now I know you are a great cook, but with your schedule, how do you find the time . . .??? The food sounds so divine!

Hope your friend Tammi has a peaceful pregnancy and doesn't have to endure the nausea/sickness too much longer.

Good morning,

Was supposed to be raining here today, but the sun is shining, so that's already a bonus!

Ended up driving my dd to ER last night. We think it she may have a partial or full bowel obstruction from her Crohn's disease. They've scheduled her for a CT scan this morning to see what is up. At least she is in reasonable good spirits. I'm hoping she won't need surgery and they can just give her some anti-inflammatories that will work.

Going to get some UB weights and Ab work in this morning. Was hoping for a walk this afternoon, but I need to go to the hospital to visit my dd and have a bunch of errands to do, so perhaps I'll have to content myself with parking at the far end of the parking lots and taking the stairs! Eating has been really good. I did have 1 1/2 pieces of pizza last night as a treat, but my carb intake was good for the rest of the day and there wasn't too much cheese on it, so I don't feel too bad.

My face is itching to beat the band this morning. It started up yesterday and I couldn't think for the life of me what caused it. Then it dawned on me this morning as I was putting my moisturizer on. I used some Clinique Age Defying "stuff" yesterday. It must have a high AHA content or something, because the rash reminded me somewhat of a sunburn!

Well, that's my news for today. To much to do...not enough time!!

Have a great day ladies!

We used to have couscous fairly often. I like it with sundried tomatoes and other good stuff in it. Last weekend my sister had garlic flavored hummus to dip grape tomatoes in as an appetizer. It smelled a little funny at first, but after I got used to the garlic in it, I liked it a lot, and the tomatoes are so much healthier than crackers.
