Not the results I was looking for...

Went to the dr for a 3 month evaluation of my blood pressure and was very disappointed when I came back with an elevated reading. It was so good the last visit and I was hoping for yet another good check up. We discussed the fatigue and lightheaded issue and she was in agreement that it could be the medication and told me to try taking it in the evening instead of the morning or that it could the the menopause issue. They drew blood to see where my hormone levels are, did an EKG which was normal and are sending me for a dopple sonogram on the carotid arteries to make sure there is no blockage there. So back to the drawing board and we'll see what I can do in a month's time to get a better result.

Susan sorry your exam did not go as you had wanted but think positive........if there is something wrong you are going to nip this in the butt early. Please take care of yourself, bloodpressure is something not to be played with. A few months ago Katie's went out of wack and we had to play with her bloodpressure meds. We got it stablized but it is a scarey thing. Feel better and know we are thinking about you.

I'm sorry your results weren't more encouraging, Susan. There's bound to be some other medication out there that will lower you BP and not give you the side effects that your current med might be causing. It's just frustrating to go from one to the next to the next until you hit on the right one. Hang in there! It will get better!

That bites. You've been trying so hard! I'm so sorry it's not going the way you want. Take care and do what the doc says. Keep us up to date! Big hugs.

Susan, I'm so sorry about your blood pressure reading. I don't know much about medicine, but I always wonder how much stress affects that reading. I know you've had alot of stress lately. We both need MAJOR stress busters in our lives, don't we?

Big hugs to you and I hope the blood pressure goes down soon.

Sorry to hear, Susan. Sometimes getting a handle on these sorts of things takes time. Have faith that the right combo of medicines will work for you.

Susan, I'm really sorry to hear you're continuing to have problems with your blood pressure. Do you take any kind of nutritional supplements to help? Several are considered essential in helping to lower it.

Calcium -- 1,500 - 3,000mg daily;

How disappointing for you Susan. You have been trying so hard to get this under control. Glad you got good results with your EKG and the doc is going to do more tests. Hope the changing the time of taking your meds helps.

I do hope you feel better soon. Rhonda has some good advice too. I have heard about dietary calcium and bananas being good for your bp.

Good luck with your tests. Take care of yourself.
