Congratulations on that awesome check up!!!!I read your posts and am so impressed by the changes you've made with your diet. And also the workouts you get in after a long day at work. You do it without any whining or complaining and make it look effortless at times. But I know that's not the case.Very proud of you and inspired by you.So glad your seeing such fantastic results.

Thanks so much, Patty! I thought really hard about posting before I did and felt like this was TMI or TM bragging, but I couldn't help myself. My BP hasn't been that low in almost 10 years on medication. And the breakthrough on the cholesterol came without meds and with a lot of darned hard work and more than a little food sacrifice. So something has finally kicked in. Maybe the hard work, maybe the SBD, but most definitely a lot of helpful suggestions and motivation from everyone here.

I still don't count myself among the physically fittest on this board, but used your motivation - Deb, Sassy, and Phyllis especially - and all of your encouragement to push myself. And I'd still rather eat a steak than spend 30 or 40 minutes at a time sweating out the treadmill or weights! But, finally, I know I have to.

I guess what I wanted to say, truly, was if I can do this, we all can - it takes time, work, cooperation and support from family, and patience to see it through.

Susan - That post was mostly to give you some encouragement. I know you're a tad frustrated with your progress and the results the meds are giving you. Just keep working at it and don't be afraid to change meds if you need to. There are hundreds out there, and one of them or some combo of them will work for you.

Thanks, Linda! It's been a haul; seeing all of that in front of me put it in perspective and woke me up to the fact that careful eating and consistent exercise (and a little peach-colored pill) make a huge difference, but the little pill isn't worth a darn if I don't keep up the other stuff.
