Nice Evening last night....

We attended DD's school fund raiser last night. The food was excellent. The down side was that the music was way too loud so conversation with the person next to you was nearly impossible although we were sitting with DD's good friend and co-worker's mom and step dad. The two guys were sitting next to each other and had a lot in common so they hit it right off and were yakking it up most of the evening although DH was so hoarse by evening's end that he could barely talk.

The fashion show was a lot of fun. The models were various members of the staff, teachers and even the school cook dressed up mighty fine in a white tux with tails. They had a selection of a few outfits in casual wear, working attire, and evening wear (thinking of you JazzerDeb during that portion :)! And then bridal wear. My daughter looked absolutely beautiful in the bridal gown. They had done her hair and DD always does her makeup so beautifully! Can't imagine what was going through her BF's mind as he sat there!

Overall a nice night and money went to the school music department to purchase instruments for the school so it was a good cause and money invested well.

That does sound like a very nice evening! I'm looking forward to accompanying Allison as she starts getting involved in school activities.

Sounds like a lovely evening, Susan! That too-loud music can be a real turn-off, I agree.

I bet your DD's BF was thinking wonderful thoughts when he saw her in the bridal gown!

I don't want your test today to scare you, but I hope it gives something in the way of explanation for how you've been feeling. Best wishes.....

What a wonderful evening you had last night, Susan. Too bad about the music..I don't understand why the music has to be so loud. So many people complain, you would think something would be done about it. I know I told the DJ at DD's wedding that if the music got too loud, he would not be paid! It worked for 3/4 of the reception.

I bet there was a tear in your eye when DD came out with the wedding gown on. Kind of gives me chills thinking about it. It sounds like everyone had a good time.

Hey Susan so glad you had a wonderful night. What is up with the loud music? Very annoying, I thought the music was supposed to be in the background. Next time someone should say something. Our school does the fashion show every two years. Its always a huge hit with everyone. Did yours do a raffle? Our school had each class make a huge basket, each in a different theme. All the stuff is donated by the parents and then they put together a pretty basket all wraped up. Plus donations from local stores. Almost 4 years ago that is how I got Katie's communion dress. I won it at the Fashion Show! Not bad for $50 worth of tickets. Glad your night went well and I bet your DD looked beautiful. By the way have you started looking at dresses? Oy, that is what we are going through now with my sister. Have a great weekend!

Sounds fun! I'd probably have gotten a little teary just seeing my daughter in a bridal gown in a fashion show. I'm just emotional about things like that. It's a shame about the music. Someone should have mentioned it to whomever was in charge. It's like when you go to the movies and it blasts you out. I think management must think they're playing to a deaf crowd. It can be almost painful at times. If you find out how much money was raised, let us know.
