Well, it's only been a few days, but it feels like 2-3 weeks since I've been here. I did my run on Sunday (2-1/2 miles, about 2 miles running with a 2-minute walk in between miles), but haven't exercised since. Lately, if I don't get it done before mid-day, it ain't happening! Plus AF is paying her visit, and Monday I was washed out. Plans for a workout today when Allison has her little friend over for a playdate. At least I finally got the kitchen floor mopped and the bathrooms cleaned!

I've become CL of the November 1998 Playgroup at ParentsPlace again after a year's break. The board was slated to be merged with other 1998 boards - we were active, but didn't have a leader. I've recovered from the burnout when the format changed last year, so I feel refreshed to do it again. So I've been tending to that board, trying to get the ball rolling on a new Who's Who, etc. Then there's been spur-of-the-moment activities - visits to the park, playdates, going to the 40% off sale at the big consignment sale in town, all of which have been fun.

So, I'm answering a bunch of messages at once here!

Nancy - that's great that DD found a job close enough to keep her near, but as you said, far enough to allow them to establish their own lives. Great news, too, on your recent checkup. Yep, I agree that trying to do the healthy thing and maybe not meeting up with our ideals are better than doing nothing at all. Your update is encouraging to *all* of us!

Deb/dmm - sounds like the new job is right up your alley... and how your family has made changes to accomodate your new schedule is very touching. I know you've vented in the past, but all in all, you've been doing right with husband and kids throughout the years - and now it's coming back to you! Congrats.

Kat - thanks for the niacin article. I'm going to print it out, study it, and see if it's something that'd help The Cus-man.

Sassy - LOL @ your Oreo heaven! I'm not an original Oreos freak, though The Cus is; however, I absolutely love the new Uh-Oh Oreos and the Chocolate Peanut-Butter ones. Yikes, I think I just gained 3 pounds thinking about them.

Michelle - I don't see the website link either on the iVillage main page. You think they'd have it on the main page. But if you get into any channel, look at the very bottom of the page and you'll see headings for Channels, Magazines, Community, etc. Member Websites are under Community. You can also get to that navigation area by clicking on "Topics" at the bottom of any message board or message. I've bookmarked the Websites main page just so I no longer have to hunt!

Marilyn - welcome to the board! You've found one of the best support and friendship boards around with this one. Even when we "fall off" the health wagon and need motivation to get back on, you can count on these ladies! Hope to see you often. And... Happy Birthday ;^)!

Rhonda - those pics of the Red Hats in the parade are great! I can't get over those shirts - they're such a riot! Where did you get them, again? I might have to get one for hyucks. ...Yikes on the snake. We've got skinks around here (snakes too, though I've not seen any). The skinks are garden good guys, but the suckers are bigger than the little green lizards and when they rush by, they'll make ya jump.

Love the picture of Allison. What a cutie!

I do understand about burnout with being a cl. It is good you took a break and you are now ready to tackle it again. I am trying to get the Lose the Last 10 board going, but no luck.

Good job with your run. It is certainly more than I could ever do!

Here's a link for those T-shirts. I ordered mine through the club, but this has every style imaginable.

I haven't seen many skinks around here, but down at my daughter's ex in-law's I saw some that from a distance the heads looked like turkeys with red stuff on them!!!! Scared me!

Allison's picture is adorable!
