Click on the link below to take a little quiz. I'm a traditionalist. Who'da thunk?

That was fun Donna. I'm Contemporary with some strong Country leanings. I think that is pretty accurate too. I'm a Virgo, so I really appreciate the minimalism of Contemporary, but I'm pretty easy-going, down to earth and craftsy, so country is pretty appealing to me also.

I'm going to assume that you're all familiar with the stores that were listed in questions "You like to shop for home accents at...." Only one isn't a store - Brimfield is this massive antique show that is held in the little town of Brimfield, MA every spring, summer and fall. The main road through the center of town has open fields along it for about 3 miles, and those fields are filled with antique dealers for three days three times a year. I've been twice. It's fun, but it's exhausting and really demands a knowing eye and excellent negotiating skills. That's where I was introduced to Stickley furniture and the Arts & Crafts movement. I saw and fell in love with a gorgeous dining room server, and went catatonic when I looked at the asking price. No amount of negotiation was going to get that thing into my home.

Your reaction to Stickley was like mine to Kittinger that does the 18th c. reproductions for Colonial Williamsburg and the White House. Twenty-some years ago one china cabinet was $25,000.00!!

Well, my tastes have certainly changed since I was first married and bought furniture! I'm a traditionalist but have contemporary tables in LR, a pedestal table in dining area (kind of country), so I'd say if I had the money I needed to redecorate it would be tradionalist tastes.
