Well so far so good. Shar, I thought about what you said and yes I am drinking that dreaded water. 8 8oz glass and more now. I am still eating well, smaller dishes but everything. No cake or icecream stuff. I lost three pounds then yesterday one came back. I could not understand why, but then someone said I will gain some before dropping. I feel better about myself and today, I learn how to use the lower body machines and then I'll walk. Next week the upper body machines then walk. I plan to use the machines every other day until I get stronger and walk each day. I'm onlu walking four miles at 4mph now. Still at an incline but dropped that down to 3 instead of six. I need to slow up a bit and work my way into this I think. I don't want to burn out or hurt myself. I look forward to letting each of you know how I am doing and hope you will let me know your ups and downs also. I would love to be there to help anyone. This is new to me you know. It was a long 15 yr break and hard to get back into it. lol all the way. Diann.

Hi Diann,

I just discovered your post here. Good for you for sticking to it. I wasn't much of a water drinker either, but I find now that sometimes I crave it. Often if I'm headachey, I will drink a couple of glasses of water and it will subside, so I guess it's dehydration.

It's not uncommon to gain some weight as you build muscle. Don't be alarmed though, it all sorts itself out. Muscle weights more, but muscle uses fat for energy, so the more muscle the more fat-burning capacity you have.

Yes, don't overdo it. Much better to start out slower and build up, than try to do too much at the beginning. You run the risk of injury too!

Glad to see your post!

Shar
