Soppy Saturday Workouts....

It's raining, it's pouring...

Grrrrr. But it's not going to get me down. Going to hit the treadmill, abs, biceps and triceps. Didn't have to get up early, so DH and I slept in...NICE ;)

What's on the agenda for your day, girls? I'm taming the paper monster this weekend. Collecting any pile I run across (only a couple) and bringing it all up to the office where it will be filed, destroyed, etc., and the office is going to (finally) get a good cleaning. I'm only coming out for laundry duties. Sounds thrilling, doesn't it? I know you all are jealous of MY life!

No plans for this evening. Maybe rent a DVD and gel out with the kids. Going to plan out food and workouts for next week sometime this weekend. Princess has me motivated to do that, as does Dr. Phyl. Who else does that??????

Hope everyone has a relaxing weekend.

Hugs.

Good Morning! I'm headed for my 3 mi. powerwalk and then will get a total body workout in & shower before I take ds to his baseball tryout. His dad bought him a deluxe bat & I bought him some cleats & baseball pants (I came out aheat on this deal, LOL! Those bats get expensive when the boys get older & "into" their sport).

I guess there will be popup thunderstorms in Dallas area - I'll have to brave them. I still plan to drive up there today to go shopping. I'm going to try to find healthy stuff to eat & NOT indulge in cookies again today!

Donna, the Weather Channel showed clips from Boston area - turkeys returning means it's really spring! Who'd have thunk it! I just may find some spring flowers this weekend to plant!

Have a great Saturday, ladies!

You definitely got the better end of the financial deal. DH bought our oldest DS a bat a couple months ago. When I asked about the price, DH just shook his head and grinned. Several hundred dollars was the price! Add that to the clinics he attends, which we pay for, the cleats he needs every season (size 13 4E!), and all of the other "must haves"...I thought we'd have to take out a second mortgage!

Over the summer my nephew gave our oldest one of his old bats...his favorite from when he was playing at Shawn's level of ball. It was a $400 bat. If I suggested buying something for myself that cost that...

So I decided to try it out. I've been eyeing a new 6 string guitar. An Ovation. Ovation makes some of the sweetest acoustic guitars available. The price reflects the sound, too. The one I was really eyeing was $1800. (as if I'd ever pay that much for a guitar!). But I know I can find one in the $500 range that I will love. I mentioned it to DH and his response? "Will it get you back to playing regularly again at home and at church? If so...let's go get it." I think he's pulling my leg. We'll see...

Enjoy your shopping today, Kat. Even if it's storming. Find yourself a little coffee shop to plop down in and just people/rain watch!

Hugs.

Good morning-

DH and FIL brought back a big ole' catfish and some bass so it looks like fried fish for dinner.

Good Morning,

It's a soggy Saturday here. Overslept again this morning not sure what's up with that. DH thinks it's the change of the seasons, even Otto is on a different routine. But I did get 30 minutes in on the treadmill. DH and I will finalyzing the decision on the new front door for our abode. One of the numerous changes we'll finally be able to do. I also have a new dishwasher sitting in the middle of my living room and hope that the new one will be in and the old one out the front door (and not sitting in the living room waiting for trash day) by days end. I'm going for a cut and color this afternoon and thrilled about that. The gray hair is way too visible and the hair is way overgrown. That's the day with probably some laundry etc.

Hope your day is a good one.

I echo the sentiment on hating the smell of frying fish in the house, Phyllis. I won't do it. DS' dad bought a fish fryer - they haven't used it yet, but it's stored in my storage room. I imagine they will try it out in the backyard this year. Maybe a gift of one of those is in order for your dh! You could keep the fish frying outdoors! I certainly wouldn't begin to want to use the thing (you have to be very careful with them) but they are quite popular out here in TX. I guess TX fishing widows refuse to smell frying fish in their homes, too!

$400 for a bat! Yes, Danny's was half that amount - $$ enough! Sheeeeesh!

Go for it on that guitar! I envy you your artistic abilities. I think piano and guitar playing are so cool!!!! Would love to hear you play!

Think I'll have to get a Starbucks decaf soy latte for the road - I like the soy lattes so much better, too!

Hi, Sassy...it was raining here this morning too and I lounged in bed for awhile. It is supposed to get sunny this afternoon. I did do some Pilates today (Pilates for weight loss video) and took notes for a warm up for my class. The warm up was done on the floor so I can do it right away.

WE are heading out in a little while to have an authentic Puerto Rican dinner at my son in law's Aunt's house. I have been warned that everything is fried, but I don't eat like that very often. I was "good" all week with eating healthy food (no junk food either because of Lent) so I can indulge a little.

We might go to the Home show tomorrow at the Nassau Coliseum. DD got free admission tickets for it. My foot feels good enough to walk around. I also got 2 new pair of athletic shoes! I was so happy to find shoes to fit my size 5 feet. Good thing most athletic shoes run small so I got 5 1/2's...no 5's to be found. I got a pair of Saucony running shoes while in Fl at a DSW and ordered a pair of Ryka cross trainers. I was really waiting for those...I needed a good pair for the gym. Both are really comfortable to walk in even with my healing foot. I actually threw out 2 pairs...I could outfit a small colony with all the athletic shoes I have. Besides having running shoes and cross trainers, I have 4 pairs of "aerobic" shoes for step and hi/lo. I kept buying because my feet were hurting so much before the surgery.

It is funny how small things can make my day! I have to get a life!! LOL!

Have a good one all.

Good workout and day planned for you today Kat. Be careful of those storms. How "courageous" of you to go out and shop! Some stormy weather can't keep you from the stores! ;)

Glad to hear DS's dad helped with the baseball equipment. It sure does get expensive.

Good luck finding healthy eats for the week.
