The Doobie Bros. concert was AWESOME! Just as good as when I saw them years ago. The only thing I missed was Michael McDonald's voice on some of the songs. They had 2 drummers, a percussionist, 4 guitars, saxophone, and keyboard. I took some pix. from a distance, but don't know if they'll turn out. What a crowd!! We pulled off I-95 on the shoulder a ways back from the exit because traffic was backed up so far. What would normally take about 5 minutes to get from there to the parking lot took us an hour and 15 minutes. I was so glad we'd left early. Our chairs were centered on the stage, but we were about 30 yards back. It was a great night for a concert. I could see all 5 of the planets that are out now through early April around dusk. The only thing I didn't like was so much cigarette, cigar, and pot smoke. I am very sensitive to smoke, and it was everywhere. I've gotten spoiled, since all restaurants are smoke free here and most venues are smoke free too.

I had tried to post this afternoon, but either AOL or my computer wouldn't let me. I spent most of the time edging, using the blower, sweeping, and watering, since the two brief rains yesterday kept things just wet enough that I didn't want to work with electrical eqp. I haven't done the flower beds yet, but got all the edging along concrete finished.

The guy across the street has rented one of those little front end loaders and is digging up the grass and upper layer of dirt in his front yard to put in top soil and new sod. He hit a 50 pair telephone cable and knocked out phone service for 50 people!! Luckily, we live on the other side of the street.

Deb, good for you for speaking up for the person who wasn't there to defend herself. Those women don't sound

Good for you, Deb!!! That IS very uncomfortable not to mention the poor lady's ears were burning! That shows that you have principles and character to defend the lady!

Rhonda, I can see why you like Cinnabon! I was good until I saw that in the mall. I had a mini-bon & it was yummy! I had a very nice trip - left late (after 12 noon), otherwise I would have planned a visit with Margie (if she was free!). Next trip up that way I really want to meet you, Margie! I got that shopping mall bug out of my system, so I don't have the urge to explore Dallas malls anymore! I also have a friend who lives in Forney, which is close to Terrell.

I first stopped at Tanger Outlet in Terrell. They have the Gap, Mikasa, Liz Claiborne, & other outlets there. I only stopped at the Bible outlet and got a cappuccino at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate place. Not in the mood to clothes shop, although ds still needs spring/summer clothes. I bought "The Passion of the Christ" soundtrack while there & listened to it the rest of the way to Plano. Good grief, wonder what was going on in Dallas around 3 p.m.!!! I-635 S was bumper to bumper for miles!! Thank goodness I was going north. This country girl would go nuts having to drive in Dallas. There was construction everywhere on 635. Next time I go that way, I'm going to see if I can go Belt Line Rd. Anyway, I stopped at the Barnes & Noble in Plano first (very nice!) and then the Whole Foods market. What a neato place! Their wine selection alone was larger than any I've seen!!! There was just too much to see that I couldn't decide what I wanted! I then went about 5 mi. to the mall in Frisco. Very nice mall - loved the dresses in Ann Taylor, loved Macy's (wish I could work there instead of Dillard's!), & the Barnes & Noble was even bigger than the Plano one. I could just park a bed in Barnes & Noble & set up camp, perfectly satisfied!! Anyway, I bought a DVD while there (some A&E thing on Christianity), ate dinner (wanted to eat at The Cheesecake Factory but there was a long wait) & left. Made it home by 10 p.m. So many shops, so little time! I am going to have to take trips to that Tanger Outlet more often, though! I saw some great clothing prices advertised in the windows. No thunderstorms encountered & only a couple of popup rain showers.

Glad I got a workout in - will have to do one tomorrow to work off that mini-bon & cappuccino!

I used to love the Doobie Brothers! A friend bought me Michael McDonald Motown for Christmas. Pretty good!

I think Mel (Gibson) has gotten to me these days, LOL! I love that movie "What Women Want", watched it the other night, and got the urge to get out the Sinatra tunes today! I listened to those on the way to the outlet mall & then "The Passion of the Christ" soundtrack the rest of the way.

I love the Doobie Bros!! Oh brings back so many memories ...

Rhonda, I sat there and thought I could keep my mouth shut (they knew I was not saying a word and were seeing my reaction), or I could do what my conscious sp? said and stop it immediately.

Good for you, Deb! Proud of ya for stopping the gossipy put-downs. I do not have any patience for that stuff anymore. DH's high school friends all still act like that when they get together. DH finally opened his eyes and saw it, too. Thank goodness I don't have to go to any more of their drunken brawls!

Had an "okay" workout yesterday. Because of the rain, I hit the treadmill. Could barely make it thru a mile! Hit the bench for abs, also did biceps and triceps. Feeling pretty buff (and a bit sore) this morning. I've got to get a handle on my eating, however.

DH and I ran errands for a few hours yesterday afternoon so I never got around to taming the paper monster in our office. I did pick out the new Ovation guitar I want. I put it on my wish list, but first thing this morning, DH jumped out of bed and got on the computer and when he came back in he announced, "let's go get the Ovation". I told him I wanted to put some $$ aside for it (we have had just a run on big expenses lately and I refuse to run up the credit cards). He told me to use my North Carolina money! What!!!!!???? He has been putting $$ aside for my trip and I have $400 in there now. About what it will cost for the guitar. Plus I need a case and amp for it. So we're mulling that over. I have plenty of time to build my NC play fund up again but if I buy the guitar...I'm really committed to get back into the music program at church. Not sure I'm ready.

Anyhoo...we ate lunch at Chiles yesterday so just had half a baked tater and small piece of corn for dinner. (the oreos don't count, right????).

Sassy

Good for you, Deb!!!!I'm sure more than one woman admired you for speaking up and wished she hadn't gone along with the group bashing.

Yesterday I got in a long walk with my sister and a good weight workout.I also got in a short nap.I was wiped out and alittle overwhelmed by all that needs to done.I keep thinking I would love to take a week , or two,and just get away for awhile all by myself.I have the idea, now all I have to do is find the time, the money and explain it to DH.And my mother :)
