Back from the big city with a head stuffed full of information. Man, a 2-day training seminar and a pop quiz of sorts - train-the-trainer exercises. In a nutshell, a new management system being put into place that gives the marketing coordinators additional work and responsibility, but much more of a data analysis role than most of us have ever had. We're all feeling excited about the new program, but are aware that it'll only be as good as the information that's in it, and we're responsible in large part for digging that info up and keeping it current when the new way goes live.
One thing about staying in Lower Manhattan: I found it too quiet at night! My hotel was nice and comfortable, but when I turned off the lights, I felt like I was sleeping in a coffin. Dark and quiet - no "white noise", no street light (the blackout curtains sure helped!), no sounds of the heating system kicking in and out, nothing except my own breathing. Really weird. And as a result, I didn't sleep well at all.
I'll catch up throughout the day with all your posts. I did see one and I have only this to say: Don't leave us, Phyllis!! More on that later....

Welcome back, Donna! Here you were in my neck of the woods and I didn't even know it. I am glad your trip was successful even though I don't understand what it was all about.
That is the first time I heard Manhatten was quiet! Isn't it funny how you get used to familiar noises and being in quiet causes sleeplessness. At least you are back in your own bed again now.
Nice to have you back.

How weird(not you personally)to hear someone can't sleep cause it's too quiet and dark.I need to get off the farm and see what life is like in a city or at least a suburb.Once DH and I stayed at a motel right across from train tracks. That was interesting!
