Sounds like an excellent day to me! I think someone on the plane from Palm Springs, CA to Raleigh, NC gave me a cold and sore throat so have been taking it easy this past week but hope to start moving on Monday. Joined Weight Watchers Online yesterday and started counting my Points today. If I can just get through the first week of adjusting to new portions, (quiet, stomach!) I might just make my goal weight.
On another note, just wanted you to know how much I appreciated your being the CL and really enjoyed all your motivational notes and inspirational scriptures. Once during an especially difficult time, printed out a couple of scriptures and re-read them on the plane as I was headed to fight a rather nasty court battle. It really helped! And although things didn’t turn out exactly as I hoped, it still turned out fine. So thank you very much!
The walk got cut short due to rain which was not suppose to be here!!Still we managed to get 30 mins in so not bad.Got on my total gym today and did a good workout. My goal for April will be doing that more faithfully.
A post from you made me hungry for some BBQ chicken so that is on right now.My sister mentioned a baked potato topped with tomatoes and mushrooms is good so may have that with it. A post from Rhonda has made me keep thinking about a Mcflurry(M&M) so I've asked DH to bring me one back home.Anyone else care to influence me in some way?????
Do you rent DH out? What a pleasant surprise to come home to a clean house. One day.........
Good for you for climbing on that treadmill and just doing it! I actually got my butt out of the house today to do 35 minutes on the recumbent bike. Walking is just too painful yet and I want to ask the doc whether I should "work through it" or do something else. I would really like to do the elliptical machine.
My foot is sore from PT yesterday and I still have to do my PT exercises. I am not looking forward to it because it hurts my foot.
It's different for us, because we have "leash laws". If you are off your own property, your dog must be on a lead. If you are on your own property, the dog must be under your voice control. Our blind dog is no problem, she can't get out of her own way. Our 3 yo shepherd is another story. Sometimes she'll bolt after another dog (if she's in our yard and off her lead). Especially at night. She wants to meet and greet and show she's in control, not attack. But it's frightening for us if she heads across the street (without looking both ways I might add!) and definitely frightning for the person walking the dog on the leash. Unless it's someone who has experienced Sam's meet and greet tactics before. My suggestion is that you get her used to staying closer to you and coming when you calling her by tieing a rope to her collar. Your next several walks, keep her on the rope, when she strays too far, call her name and give a tug on the rope back towards you. If she still doesn't respond, call her name again, give her a sharp tug (tug and release) and she might startle at first or even yelp, but then praise her. So she'll associate coming to you, no matter where she is, as a good thing. Don't need to use treats. Dogs LOVE praise and attention. Use a high, excited voice and give her lots of praise, even when you had to tug sharply to get her to come back to you.
It'll work. She has proved to be a very intelligent dog. She'll get the hint quickly. After you reinforced the lesson for a week or so, let her off the lead on a walk and see how she does.
I started out strong this morning. Up at 5:00 (couldn't sleep...too much coughing), got tons of work done on the computer. Made breakfast for everyone (scrambled eggs, bacon, cinnamon buns), did a bunch of laundry. Headed up to church and printed out some things I needed. Got the family involved in doing some trash picking up on the church grounds and clean up inside. Headed back home, did some more laundry and cleaning. Tried to take a nap. No one would let me. So I hollered a bit and tried to take a nap again. No one would let me. So I stomped around a bit and tried to take a nap. Kept coughing and coughing. Finally gave up! Heading in to put on my jammies in a minute and climbing into bed with a pile of magazines and they (the other 4 people in this house) better not bug me! DH did take us all out to dinner, plus a single friend of ours. But I deserved it after not being allowed to nap. Did I mention I've had a fever for the past 3 days? Does anyone in my house care???? Grrrrrrr.
Phyllis, I'm doin' GRRRRRREAAAAAAT as Tony the Tiger would say! I had a 6 mile powerwalk/run (ran 2 miles of it) on my favorite trail. It sure is difficult to walk that whole thing! I miss running! Anyway, the dogwoods and azaleas looked so gorgeous today! God is a magnificent artist & uses a colorful palette.
Wonderful thing about heat & I - I lose the appetite! Too bad I have to work every night next week, otherwise I'd hit the trails! Today I did great on my eating - mostly fruits and veggies.
Phyllis, Sassy & Nancy, and others who have done the Women of Faith Study Guide Series: I didn't know they were at Sam's! I picked up one (great price of $4.20 w/tax)called "Adventurous Prayer". The title just got me! Love the books with spaces for my jottings.
Sunday School is on the agenda for tomorrow. So is housecleaning! I'll also do another 6 miler and my total bod workout (unless I have enough gumption to do that tonight!).
This weekend I guess we turn back time, as Cher would sing. So glad we are back to Daylight Savings time, love the longer days.
I had an Oreo one today, but at least it's kept me away from the M&M ice cream in the freezer! Of course, we haven't been to the movies yet. I think I feel a popcorn craving coming on...

Gosh, sweetie pie, you ARE sick!! That sinusitis is the pits, isn't it? AF bugging you too, I imagine! I hope your crew will be good to the Mommy and let her get her rest. Hope your new meds are helping. Russell, if you're reading this, make sure Susan gets her rest this weekend! We need a well and rested Sassy around here!
I won't try to influence you in any way, today, Princess! I am now having a glass of Riesling wine & since I know you don't drink alcoholic beverages, I got away with it!
