My instructor charged $60. an hr. back in 2000, but with her background, it was a bargain compared to what's charged on the West Coast and some large cities. Because I paid in blocks of 6 hrs., I got a $50. an hr. a rate. At 2 hrs. a week, it didn't last long though. I also had a ton of gas, miles on my car, and at least lunch out, not to mention almost weekly trips to the Orlando malls. I was working much of the time back then, so I really went wild.

Well, I'm just glad that

a) she's right here in town and...

b) we've worked out a barter arrangement where I help her out with the studio and she lets me come to class for free.
