Hey, Michele! I'm watching Joel Osteen right now on TV - Lakewood's Easter Service at Minute Maid Park in Houston. Great music, too! BTW, I finally found "The Power of a Praying Woman Prayer and Study Guide" in a store! Now I'm going to have to go thru the book again with the Study Guide! That was part of my Easter present to myself - that and a new Bible suite for my computer, called "Ilumina". Love it - it has the complete Bible with all kinds of illustrations, encyclopedia, Bible studies, devotionals, maps, virtual reality tours, multimedia & photos, etc.
Hope your Easter went well with the family! Not too many fireworks I hope! Did your son have a good time?
That would be so neat if you and Rob could get baptized on the same day!! I'm really looking forward to it! You know, I used to be afraid that once I did - I'd never be able to live up to . . . well we will never be able to live up to Christ's example, but I was missing everything when I thought that way! I'll never be worthy of God's gift, but the great thing is that I may receive it and I want to . . .
You're too sweet, Rhonda. YES, I've done things I'm ashamed of - definitely!!! But I know that if I repent of them, get baptized and receive the Holy Spirit, I will be able to count on God directing my life as long as I ask. I love one of the messages I heard today - ask God to take a look at my sorrows (not to expect instant solutions) yet ask God to forgive my sins (not for God to look at my sins but to forgive them - how cool is that!).
I worry about not being able to live up to expectations either, but I'm learning to do the best I can and work at improving. The funny thing is I find I have problems with some people just at the level where I am. It's surprising how unpopular it is with most people to try to follow your conscience and do what you've been taught is right. It makes waves, and people don't like it. But...I have to try to do what I feel in my heart is right. I don't know how else to be, and I'm not sure I'd even want to be any other way.
I think we've all done things we regret. Experience and hindsight are great teachers, but sometimes the lessons learned are
YAY!!! Congratulations on those 6 lbs. lost, Sassy!! Just shows you that your kick bu** workouts and good eating are paying off. Keep up the great job, lady!

Kat, I'm in the same boat, christened but not baptized. I'd really like for Rob and me to get it done together.
I can't imagine that you would have done anything terrible. You're probably in the same boat as the rest
