in the article in Good Housekeeping (May). He has some solutions for the unmotivated, undisciplined (gee, sounds like me!!) and one really stuck out that I am SO guilty of:

"Expect Setbacks - Don't Embrace Them

Yes there will be those cupcakes left over from the bake sale, the lavish anniversary dinner, the weeks or months when the scale won't seem to budge. These setbacks are a given - but how you react to them is not. Actually, the majority of people who struggle with their weight are waiting for a setback. Because this life is hard, and it's particularly hard for people who are not actively inclined. Subconsciously, many people want to be let off the hook - they're waiting for an excuse to stop living a life that is tougher than the way they used to live. So when a setback comes along, they secretly breathe a sigh of relief."

I saw that magazine and wondered how the article was. Will have to pick it up next time.Today I was aggrivated about something and found my hands reaching for the chip bag.Put them back and realized I have to stop letting my emotions control my food so much.

In the Fit For Life plan he talks about how we make promises to ourselves about exercise but we break those promises and don't follow thru.He makes a good point that we would never let other people down like that.I've been looking at that book and may pick it up this weekend.
