The day went pretty well, but I'm glad the work week is over. In spite of all the candy and leftover dessert left over from Easter I actually made it through a whole week without any junk food. Felt really good about accomplishing that. I usually start falling apart by midweek and then total disaster strikes by the end of the week. I had a manicure and pedicure after work and that was most enjoyable.

I didn't jog around Costco, or do any lifting of bulk goods, or work out at home - but I did eat a really nice dinner! It really is all about the food. Veal Oscar - you don't see it around that often anymore, and it was really tasty - with a small Caesar salad and roasted veggies. No dessert - not even M&Ms!

Getting ready for the tiny terror's visit. I'm going to try to enlist him to help me rake left-over leaves from last fall and pick up around the backyard. First, though, we'll go to the grocery store after we pick him up - need to let him find some goodies (ice cream sandwiches are a current favorite) for the weekend. Then to the toy store so he can get a new toy to play with and either leave it here or take it home with him. There will be some computer time with pbskids.org, and maybe a visit to the Clay Room or to the park on Sunday. He also gets to pick out where we go for dinner Saturday night - a creature of habit, he'll probably pick TGIFriday's. If it sounds like it's all about him, you're right - it's a weekend with auntie and uncle, and he'll get to do whatever he wants (like his sister did). He needs to behave and "act like a gentleman", though, or it's back home to mom and dad, pronto.

Nancy, I loved reading your post about Annie. She sounds like a really sweet, smart dog. A border collie, right? Doesn't it look like she wants to talk to you when you speak to her? As much as I love golden retrievers, I think border collies are the smartest of the breeds.

I'm sitting here trying to watch what I would safely say is a rerun of "The Apprentice" on CNBC. I never could catch it when it ran during the week. I liked the part about the golf tournament at the gorgeous club Donald Trump had renovated. I just got back from our golf tournament & that was hard enough for us to organize! I think that Bill guy did a fabulous job. Felt sorry for the Kwame (sp?) dude at the Jessica Simpson deal. I guess it's a good thing I didn't get a chance to watch - might have gotten hooked on it.

I'm tired from our golf tournament and have to work all weekend. I walked quite a bit today, but ate a burger - yikes!!!!

Later . . .

P.S. Nancy, your post about Annie made me wistful for a companion of my own. She sounds like a wonderful dog.
